Netiquette is the good behavior in the Internet.It stands for Internet’s etiquette.
It’s a set of official conventions that facilitate interaction over the Internet.
The basic rules of the Internet
• Write clearly so everyone can understand you.• Don’t write in capital letters, it looks like
you’re yelling.• Research before asking, you can find it easily
without bothering anyone.• Help the newbies, you were one too.• Never use offensive language.
Informal conversations
• You can use emoticons to express your emotions when you talk. Some webs have their own emoticons integrated.
• The shortest the best, you can use abbreviations as well.
• Don’t use them in formal conversations.
The basic rules when sending messages
• Be brief.• Use white spaces.• Use descriptive subject lines.• Stay on topic when you continue the
conversation.• Be careful Sending attachment.• Avoid flaming.
• Always reply if it’s necessary.• Check the current information before replying.• Summarize.• Don’t reply if it isn’t necessary.• Reference past communications.• Acknowledge important communications.
The basic rules when replying
• Don’t publicize other’s email addresses without owner’s permission.
• Never send what you don’t read.• Remember archiving.• Respect copyright.
Privacy
• Never use someone’s name and pretend you’re him/her.
• Don’t post or distribute illegal material.• Never post racist remarks to people’s sex,
gender, race, etc.• Don’t try to obtain any personal information
about someone.
