NCIS and Mark Harmon will be back for atleast another year, and this shouldn't be asurprise for anyone. After all, it is CBS' #1drama and the most-watched drama in theworld. In addition to the show being renewed for its 16th season, the network announced that series star andexecutive producer Mark Harmon has signed a new deal.

"It's pretty simple -- viewers everywhere love NCIS," Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment, said in astatement. "This show speaks to viewers of all ages, in all parts of the country and around the world. NCIS'amazing characters and terrific storytelling result in some of TV's most passionate fans. Of course, none of thiswould be possible without an outstanding production team, and talented cast led by the incomparable andabsolutely tireless Mark Harmon. We're thrilled he is returning as the centerpiece of the show, and we could not bemore excited for NCIS' 16th season."
The CBS procedural drama is averaging 17.0 million viewers and is in the top five most-watched shows ontelevision this season.
Harmon's new deal is good news for fans, as they're getting ready to say goodbye to one of the other original castmembers. Pauley Perrette's final episode is airing May 8, and after her exit, the only cast member who will beremaining from the beginning other than Harmon is David McCallum.

I hope they were going to renew it, but I guess they had to thinkabout Mark Harmon if he was coming back. Mark is the number one star on the show.I know Pauley Perrette is going to be missed. I hope they can find someone reallygreat to replace her. I know it is going to be hard.

How is this show still on the air?! Oh man, another team member isput at risk?!?! Will they solve it in time?!?!.... that sound <---- thats a dead horse beingbeaten. Put it to rest and create something new already.

NCIS has never been the same since the loss of Ziva and Dennozzonow with Pauley leaving, well it speaks for it self. Bishop never fit in the rest were okaybut now the writing is on the wall the great dennozzo slap gone too. Sorry it's endingup this way, had a good run though

It has been getting a little bit difficult to watch lately; I seem to fallasleep halfway through the show. This started shortly after the death of GaryGlassberg, one of the producers of the show. Seems to have lost that NCIS spirit ofold. Anyway, good luck to Pauley, she has been a wonderful character throughout 15
