NBC stands for Nothing Beats Commitment and this summer we want to help fuel your passion for the game of volleyball. Your commitment to being your best as a player and person is what will dictate your future. NBC Volleyball began in 1979 as a branch of NBC Basketball Camps. At NBC Camps we are committed to elevating your personal excellence on and off the court. Our goal is to teach athletes how to compete with confidence, high skill level and intensity. NBC Volleyball Camps will help you become the best you can be!

At NBC CAMPS,

Priority.

Every year, I continue to meet new campers and coaches, and even some that I still stay in touch with. I loved be-

ing pushed at morning workouts and intensity night because that’s how you get better and that’s

why I come to camp. I also love having guest speakers every night. My absolute favorite

part of camp was the Golden Ruler program. I initially wanted to do it to challenge myself and to become a better leader on and off the court but I got so much more out of it. I learned time management, keeping a positive attitude, and more about my faith and myself. – Abby D., ALASKA

INTENSIvE CAmP

This is an intensive skills and

athletic training camp for serious

players. This camp is designed

for high school level players,

club players and those that are

committed to working hard and

taking their skills to the next level.

INTRO CAmP

This camp is designed for younger

athletes who would benefit from

the NBC Camps skill development

in a day camp environment.

COmPLETE PLAYER

NBC CAMPS offers Complete

Player Volleyball Camps

for beginners to college

prospects. Complete Player

Camps focus on the crucial

keys to becoming a great

player. Training focuses on

total skill development in the

areas of defense, offense,

team concepts, and serving.

Within these four broad

categories, specific skills

from fundamental to complex

are taught, depending on the

camper’s skill level. Campers

are placed on teams based on

age and/or ability.

Every year, NBC Camps sends volleyball travel teams overseas to

experience culture in other parts of the world while competing

against teams abroad. Athletes are observed at camp based on

their character and skill level. NBC Coaches nominate athletes

for consideration for this opportunity. If you are interested in NBC

Travel Teams for 2019 make sure to talk with your NBC Coach or

Director at camp. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What are the habits of great players? As a player, I was taught to embrace whatever situation I was in and look at it as a challenge to overcome. I tried not to see limitations or obstacles but rather push myself to be my very best in what I was doing in that moment. Sometimes my best was being a great teammate even if I wasn’t on the court, or developing into a different role on my team than what I was used to. As a coach, I teach my players not to let your circumstances define you. Control what you can control: effort, attitude, interactions with your teammates, and body language. 

What have you learned during your playing and coaching career that can help aspiring athletes? NBC Camps provides a unique opportunity to develop as an athlete, with focus on individual skill and team play, while also learning to elevate leadership and confidence. Self-awareness is critical to help athletes develop. They need to know what they believe, what they value, and what their strengths and weaknesses are. NBC provides all these opportunities and allows athletes to develop and grow in a challenging yet supportive environment.

Why should a player consider coming to NBC Camps? NBC Camps provides a unique opportunity to develop as an athlete, getting both individual skill and team play, while also getting the opportunity to learn about themselves. Self-awareness is critical as athletes develop. They need to know what they believe, what they value, and what their strengths and weakness are.

Coach Kati Bodecker is the Head Volleyball Coach at Whitworth University. Kati has led the Pirates to championship-level status in the Northwest Conference claiming two NWC titles. Kati received an athletic scholarship to the University of Idaho, where she was a four-year starter.
