Quantitative fusion – (Patented) Quant Fusion is a new concept inELECTRIC FURNACE fusion preparations for XRF.

Navas Instruments has manufactured multiple sample TGA for almost 20years, our business is taking precise weights at high temperature. The concept frees XRF fusion processes from the uncertainties andassumptions made in conventional fusion systems.

The Navas Quant concept is very simple:Total weight = (Moldable weight + flux weight + sample weight + Optionallyoxidizer weight)Moldable weight + flux weight does not change during fusion, only thesample doesCorrection of moldable buoyancy and flux loss is compensated by softwareFinal sample weight = (Total balance weight Moldable weight flux weight)

This simplification of the process coupled with automation of critical weightdata collection gives unsurpassed improvements in accuracy and ultimatelyin precision and hence the name quantitative fusion.

The (Patented) Navas Quant Fusion simplifies the fusion process by:

    • Being able to use dried samples, no pre ignition is necessary even forsamples with high percentages of volatiles like limestone.

    • Being able to dose the flux weight to a pre determined dilution ratio• Being able to track the exact weight of an approximate addition of sample

and oxidant if necessary (reduces the need for time consuming preciseweighing)

    • The LOI / LOF / GOI is tracked during the fusion process• The final bead weight is measured just before the automated addition of

the releasing agent giving the true sample dilution ratio• These values are captured by the Navas Quant Fusion software for

automatic integration into any XRF data computation program

    • 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 bead modelsavailable (Easilyexpandable)

    • LOI / LOF / GOI in thesame fusion cycle

    • Increases Productivity &cuts pre fusion prep timesignificantly

    • Cuts Preparation Time –approximate sampleaddition and rough dosingall carefully monitored byprecise weighing reducesdemands on operators

    • Cuts toxic, corrosive gasemissions of nonwettingagent by 90% providingcleaner processes

    • No broken beads, nocrucible cleaning needed
