QUESION: THE MARK OF SUN-DAY

THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMESew,been meaning to ask you something for awhile now. If Scripture tells us that our Savior/Messiah'se is THE name above all names, why then does everyone say Joshua's name is the same name as Ya -a's name. That is not possible if HIS name is the name above all names! So Joshua can not have the samee. To me, it seems that our Messiah's name should be the only one who has such a special name that nobody s world should have that name either since it is THE name above all names!! You once mentioned on another 

o that Joshua's true name was Hosea or something like that, I can't quite remember if this is the correct spelling.I believe you said that it was changed by Moses. If Moses changed it to Yahusha.....why would he do that?if so, we should be telling everyone that this is not truly Joshua's birth name and just because Moses changeddoesn't mean we should compare it our Savior's. Just like no other gods has the name Yahuah, no other personld have the name of Yahusha, don't you think?

Sister,question is understandable, and many have the same concern about this. The text at Acts 4:12, as well as the

wer given by Peter to the question, “Wat sall we do?”, provide us with the clear direction of  wat Name toon for deliverance:

2:38 “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of Yahusha (yod-hay-shin-ayin) Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit.’”

Many unbelieving Yahudim see no connection to t he Christian proper noun, “Jesus”, since it makes no sense,s meaningful in Hebrew. Upon seeing that the Name is propesied to be “Yahusha”, things begin to make senseem. The Name of the Mashiach was given in prophecy. ZecharYah chapter 3:1-10 refers to the high priestusa”, however most translations render this “Yehoshua”. It is spelled the same as the name of Mosheh’s suc-or, yod-hay-uau-shin-ayin (H3091). ZecharYah (meaning “Yahuah remembers”) was inspired to write the Namee Mashiach sometime after the returning of the captives from the land of Babel. His father was probably aemporary with the prophet NehemYah, the governor and leader of the restoration of the walls of Yerushalayim.

The original name of the person they call “Joshua”, as you mentioned, was hUShA (h1954) – hay-uau-shin-Mosheh added one letter to his name, making it Yausa (h3091), yod-hay-uau-shin-ayin, recorded here:

13:16: “These are the names of the men whom Mosheh sent to spy out the land. And Mosheh called husaon of Nun, Yausa.”

The concept of the Name being “above every name” does not mean no other person was named “Yahusha”.erm “above” means the Name is foremost, superior, nest, and most respected, not necessarily exclusive or ue. The Greek spelling for the name, IESOUS (Acts 7:45), and again seen at Hebrews 4:8, reveals that Mosheh’sessor’s name utilizes the SAME LETTERS as t hose for our Deliverer, Yahusha. In the case of Mosheh’s successor,ranslators render IESOUS as “Joshua”, yet in the case of our Mashiach they use the same letters, IESOUS, to beus”. This is so inconsistent, and misleading!

The connection between Mosheh’s successor, Yahusha, and our Deliverer, Yahusha, is more than just thee itself. Mosheh’s successor led the children of Yisrael into the promised land. This was a picture of what Ya-a (our Deliverer) is going to do at His return, when He will re-gather the scattered children from the ends of theh. Being able to read the Hebrew spelling of the ve-lettered Name throughout the TaNaK gives us certainty of 

the Name is, uncorrupted by the inuences of Greek and Latin, as well as later changes like the letter “J”.

ShalomBrother I know that we are required to wear tassels on 4 corners o our garments. Where ex-actly do we place them? On the end o the sleeves and bottom sides o the shirt? Also wouldit be on the shirt or outer garments, jacket, coats etc. As trivial as it may sound how do weasten the tassels to our clothing?

Answer:

How wonderul to meet you brother!! I'm so glad we'e the opportunity to share with one

another. We pray or workers in the harest (and the harest is great), and the joy o seeing a budding branch neer pales.

About tradition:I you ask 2 Yahudi (Jewish/our older brother) men a question about tradition you will get

3 answers. I hope this attempt at humor doesn't seem out o place, but you get the point.Tere is tradition and then there is instruction. Because the orah does not delineate a

particular method this will be le up to the indiidual's discretion and is really a mattero how Yahuah inspires that person to obey Him. Many o course will wear the allis (a

"shirt" with them attached...please remember the blue cord). Many still that I know (including mysel), choose to ax them to belt loops o the trousers (either by looping them

inside themseles around the belt loop in the case that the tzitzit are closed at the top(common i you purchase the tzitzit), or by learning to tie them directly onto the pants

 you commonly wear. Another method (i on has only one set to be transerred rom gar

ment to garment either or purchased, sel tied or dress set) is to get a set o small clipsthat can be easily remoed rom the belt loop and attach them with that.

Many olks purchase do them rom others who are craers o spiritual garments. We hae

them at torahzone.net and I'e seen some really ancy ones at handsoalor.com . I youlike to be adenturous, I'e attached an instruction sheet to learn to tie your own (I'e

become accustomed to tying them onto each o my garments...I preer that).
