The Outlook
Glenn’s Corner
First of all my family and I would like to thank the
Elders and congregation for all the love and generosi-
ty shown during the Christmas season. First Chris-
tian has always loved our family and you will never
know how much that means. Our church family is
dear and precious to us.
In a dinner table discussion one of my children
said, “ Our church needs to know they are our fami-
ly.” Sure my parents live in King but we have no
other relatives near by. We do not have both sets of
parents, grandparents and relatives living within ten
miles. We have no places we have to be through the
holidays and First Christian really is our family.
With that thought in mind I want us to focus on
how important our Church family is to our spiritual
growth. You and I can not make it alone without
Christ and the support of our Christian/church family.
We offer so many opportunities around here for a
person’s growth. We have 5 adult Sunday School
classes, a Thursday night ladies Bible Study,
Wednesday Night Bible Study and one on Sunday
Night unless church wide events are happening.
During these times on Sunday morning and
Wednesday night there are activities for our children
and teens. I encourage you to definitely get your
family involved in some hour of Bible Study through
the week. We are not trying to badger you. The
scripture says iron sharpens iron and to love one
another. In times of joy, discouragement and sorrow
we need that personal touch and love that only
friends and family can provide. Our Sunday School
provides a forum to cultivate those friendships and
deeper bonds that tie us together in Christ. In fact
many of our Sunday School classes have been reach-
ing out and working within our community as well as
having more fellowship outside of class hours.
As the new year approaches I want to encourage
you to jump in and make time for that extra hour.
Whether it is during Sunday School or Wednesday
Night your family will not regret it.
Men, we are having our first meeting for a Men’s
Group I am starting on Sunday, Feb. 2nd at 8:30am.
We will have breakfast, a quick Bible Study, and dis-
cuss projects and outings we can do with our children
during the coming year. Come connect and deepen
your ties here at FCC. Glenn
Luke’s Letter to the Flock Christmas this year will go down in the record book
for me. I think I say that every year, but FCC helped to
make it one of the best for me! Thank you for the gifts,
love, and caring hearts over the past month! It was
sincerely appreciated.
I also want to thank each and every one of you who
donated for the KOM food baskets! It was a huge success!
We were able to make 72 baskets of food! 22 more than we
had planned, God was working in us as a congregation and
he provided. We were also able to donate 2400 lbs of left
over food to stock the shelves at KOM!!
Thank you as well to all the Student Ministry
Parents and Adults who helped to set up and tear down for
our Christmas Party! The night was amazing and I could
not have made it as special without all of your help! 2013
was full of memories that many of us will never forget, your
students were challenged by God and what he wants for
each of their lives and they responded in mighty ways! I am
so thankful for all of the help with Wednesday night,
Sunday Nights, Sunday School, YACS, Trips, and all other
events! Your help and devotion to our Student Ministry
helps to make it continue moving day in and day out!
Wow January is here and that means another year is
is gone and a new one is here! Time to set those goals and
keep that head held high, not only for your personal goals
but for your spiritual growth! God is going to use us all this
year! We have to listen for his call and go with reckless
abandon in the direction that he will lead us!
Please never stop praying for all of our students, our
church, our ministry, and most of all God’s church!
Together and through him all things are possible!

CHILDREN’S Corner Great job to ALL our kids who sang in the Christmas program!! What a close to
a wonderful year for us in the children’s ministry. So ready or not here comes a
new year with new events, new experiences, new challenges and new growth in
faith. We may not know all that is in store for us this coming year however we’re
blessed with confidence to know that through it ALL our heavenly father will be
with us ALL the way. We have many exciting things in store for our Children’s Min-
istry. A few are slipping up on us real quick. Our 4th annual Great Wolf trip for
grades 4 through 7 will be on January 11th and 12th. Also I am very excited about
our upcoming “Grow” and “Sprouts” 40 day challenge. We know families schedules
are jam packed more than ever so we took that in mind when we put the challenge
together. This year we have worked hard to streamline the family devotions and
activities taking less time and making the devotion schedule very flexible in case
your families schedule overwhelms you. We are very excited about this year’s top-
ic. We feel that it will challenge the whole family to grow closer and stronger in
Christ. Please make plans for your family to attend the Grow / Sprouts kickoff
event on Sat. Jan 25th.
I want to stop and thank all of you who have volunteered and worked in our
children’s ministry this year 2013 whether you served a snack, changed a diaper,
played a game with our kids, taught a lesson, donated candy, shared your farm
with us, lead a choir or helped with one or were faithful in prayer for us we THANK
YOU!
Also on a personal note a very special thank you to the congregation for your
love, kindness and generosity during the Christmas season. Our family feels your
love and appreciation. Thank you so much!

Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief agency that has been fulfilling its
commitment to end hunger for more than 15 years. Since 1998, the organization has
coordinated the distribution of food and other lifesaving aid to children and families in
countries all over the world.
Stop Hunger Now created its meal packaging program, in 2005. The program perfect-
ed the assembly process that combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring
mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packets. Each meal
costs only 25 cents. The food stores easily, has a shelf-life of two years and transports
quickly. The packaging operation is mobile enough to go wherever volunteers are locat-
ed, and can be adapted to accommodate as few as 25 and as many as 500 volunteers at
a time. The use of volunteers for product packaging has resulted in an extremely cost-
effective operation while, at the same time, increasing awareness of global hunger and
food insecurity issues across the world.
Stop Hunger Now provides over 70% of its meals to support transformational devel-
opment programs such as school feeding programs, vocational training programs, early
childhood development programs, orphanages, and medical clinics. Working with
these programs helps enhance lives by giving beneficiaries the opportunity to break the
cycle of poverty through education, skills development, and health care while also re-
ceiving much needed nutrition. Stop Hunger Now’s goal is to allocate 80% of its meals
to transformational development programs by 2015.
