Aim

The aim of this Law is to protect the people and future

generations from harms of tobacco products

LAW on PREVENTION of HARMS and CONTROL of TOBACCO PRODUCTS

• Article 2“use of tobacco products in closed areas is forbidden”

– Public places, including the corridors– Closed and open areas of schools– Health, education, sports, cultural, trade, entertainment,

hotels, ...– Public transport, including commercial taxis– Restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, pubs,, ...– Exceptions: mental diseases hospitals, prisons, houses for

the elderly

• Advertisement, promotion and sponsorship ban, • Article 3 (1 –7. items)

– (1) promotion by the names or logos of the tobacco industry in forbidden

– (3) cars can not carry the topbacco names or logos– (4) distribution of gifts is forbidden– (5) any annoucements using the name or logo ….– (6) appearance of cigarette in the films, ..– (7) selling of tobacco products is banned at helath,

education and sports establishments

• Selling tobacco to minors : 18 yrs.

• Article 3 (8-14. fıkralar) – (8) selling of tobacco to minors is forbidden

(imprisonment : 6-12 months)
