QLD Primary Schools MILO T20 BLAST Competition 2015
WELCOME & OVERVIEW
The MILO T20 BLAST SCHOOLS CUP was held for the first time during 2014 with girls and boys in the upper primary school. Over 3800 students participated in the QLD component of the inaugural national competition. We are extremely excited to announce that 2015 will see the inaugural MILO T20 Blast Schools Cup run for girls only in the Junior Secondary school sector (Yr 7 & 8). Regional winners from around the state will receive free transport to and accommodation in Brisbane for the state final during Term 4. The winners of the state cup will then receive a free trip to Melbourne to play on the MCG in the national final! MILO T20 Blast School Cups are promoted and run by trained, professional providers. QLD Cricket will supply all the equipment for the event. We’re also responsible for the organization, administration, set up, game fixture, timing, recording of statistics and the clean-up of the event. QLD Cricket Officers will work with every school sport region and district to host gala day style competitions as a preferred option for the delivery of this competition. Where possible, the Junior Secondary Girls Cups will take place on the same day and at the same venue as the Primary School MILO T20 Blast State Cup district and regional competition gala days. Alternately, secondary school districts may make alternative arrangements with their relevant regional cricket officers for stand-alone competition days. Participation and enjoyment are the main focus of the T20 Blast School Cups. The matches take place on grass outfields with smaller boundaries to inspire countless fours and sixes. With music playing and several games taking place on the same oval at the same time, it creates an action packed, fun atmosphere where every student is involved. Some video highlights from last years’ national finals day which was held at the MCG for each of the respective state winners, can be viewed at the following address:
