Prof. Anand Asundi from School of Mechanical and Production Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore visited our chapter under SPIE Visiting Lecture Program during 7 – 9 December 2008.
He delivered a talk on “Digital Holography - A New Paradigm in Imaging and Microscopy” to our student chapter members on 8th December 2008 followed by a dinner.
He also visited various laboratories of our department and motivated for good research work as well appreciated our chapter activities. Thanks to SPIE visiting lecture program.

♣ R. Virendra N Mahajen, Scientist from Aerospace Corporation, California, USA visited our chapter under OSA Visiting Lecture scheme during 18–19 November 2008.
♣ He delivered a talk on “OPTICAL IMAGING AND ABERRATIONS” to our
student chapter members on 18th November 2008 followed by a dinner.

o Our student chapters’ volunteers conducted an “Awareness Program on Physics Education And Research (APPEAR ’08)” in Thanthai Hans Roever College, Perambalur on 1st March 2008.
o A pamphlet containing information about various examinations conducted
in India to enter into research institutions is prepared and distributed. The pamphlet also conveys message about the chapter activities and student chapter benefits. More than 1oo students are benefited from this program.
