The Role of the NGB Joint Staff

The NGB Joint Staff supports the Chief in his role to:– Serve as the primary advisor on the employment

(channel of communication) of National Guardmilitary forces operating in U.S. States and Territories

– Plan for and coordinate the operational employment, as required, with the appropriateJFHQ, Combatant Commanders, the Chairman, the Secretaries and Chiefs of the Army and the Air Force, and the Federal Interagency (Force Coordinator)

– Support the development of operational capabilities, concepts, and plans for Domestic Operations involving National Guard forces
