L3 is one component of the Best Start initiative that aims to ensure all students are on track in their Literacy and Numeracy learning by Year 3 and we are looking forward to bringing this explicit teaching into our Kindergarten class. We welcomed Ms Kate Smith from Leeton to our school last Friday replacing Mrs Steward in Year 1. This week we welcome Ms Brooke Taylor from Ganmain who will be replacing Mrs Steward this coming Friday. We hope to employ both Kate and Brooke throughout the year on a casual basis. Thank you to those parents who attended our Meet the Teacher evening followed by our first P&C meeting for 2012 last night. We look forward to working with you all throughout the year. Thank you everyone who stayed for the very successful P&C Meeting last night. It has been decided that we will be holding our twilight fete on March 30th. The first Fete meeting will be held on Feb 20th at 7.00pm in the staffroom. We would love to see you all come along and bring all your ideas for stalls and attractions. Year 1 & 2 enjoyed their first visit to the stadium last Friday. This Friday sport will be held at school as we will be holding a Rugby League Clinic, run by Dean Wymark from Leeton. We have had a very positive start to 2012 and students are very happy and settled. Please try to get your Bookpack fee paid as soon as possible and many thanks to those who have already done so. Look at our beautiful Kindergarten students, all ready for a busy year ahead. We have 11 boys and 8 girls and they are all as keen as mustard and ready to face the year ahead, the first of many on their educational journey.
