Welcome to our production of "NARNIA: The Lion, The Witch & The

Wardrobe"! This great CS Lewis story comes to life in a fantastic stage

musical that I first did in 1997 at Biola. This is SCYT's first time doing

this production, and we are proud of the cast members you will see

bringing these famous roles to life today.

Our director/musical director is Dane Morris, and our choreographer is

Jessica Ordaz. The three of us have done more than 10 productions in a

row the last 3 years in Orange, plus other shows in Whittier & Pasadena. I

could not be more proud of Dane and Jessica! They have done an amazing

job again bringing this show to life on the stage, and being great examples

day in and day out to our cast members.

A special thanks to Todd & Judi Griffin for all their extra help behind the

scenes with the show and the program, and countless other details with the

production. Thank you to all our wonderful parents who help with all the

details, you are the backbone of SCYT!

This spring we will offer an Orange cast of "The Wiz". This is another

great show brought to life in a musical. This performance has wonderful

music and many awesome characters! You won't want to miss being a part

of this hit show, spread the word to all K-12th graders in OC to sign up!

Sit back and enjoy this great show tonight! Thank you so much for

Page 3: Narnia

Narnia is a theatrical adaptation of a series of fantasy novel for

children by C. S. Lewis. The novel was written in 1950. The play that

is usually played with a musical is the first story "The Lion, the Witch

and the Wardrobe". This is the best known story of the series and most

loved by the children as well as adults. You would be involved in the

adventurous land of Narnia with Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. You

will find Narnia's cold ruler, the White Witch, who wants and makes

sure it's always winter and Aslan. You will meet the Great Lion and

true king of Narnia. This musical is full of fantastical adventure as all

of the heroes break the witch's spell. The story is about the good and

evil, myths and fables, unusual talking animals.

In this musical play, Lucy the youngest of all four children finds a

snow-covered land called Narnia after walking through a wardrobe.

The Narnia land is ruled by ruthless White Witch. Lucy comes back

and finds herself unable to convince her friends. Next time, she is

followed by Edmund who is caught up by the witch and seduced by her

for power. He follows the witch and one day brings all the four children

to her castle. These four children come to Narnia again and sheltered by

a beaver couple. They were told a story about fulfilling the prophecy

and breaking the witch's rule.

The children are also informed of the true king of Narnia, great lion

called Aslan who has been disappeared for many years, but is now "On

the move again." Edmund was caught by the witch. Rest of children

find out Aslan and rescue Edmund who was about to be killed by the

witch. Aslan is sacrificed by the witch when he offers himself in place

of Edmund. But Aslan comes back to life and defeats and kills the

witch. The children become kings and queens, and lives happily for

many years in Narnia, growing to maturity, before returning to our

world, where they find themselves children again.

Narnia is a fabulous musical with lots of fun and memorable music.
