Narm Rubber is proudly Australian owned with factory operations in Brisbane and Sydney, with our Head Oce in Sydney.

We have an active Australian R&D program and work with local business and suppliers to develop technology.

We pride ourselves on being a key supply chain partner by providing quality products and developing trusted relationships with our customers. We take the time to understand your business and work with you to manu-

Why Choose Narm

“ Should your requirements involve customisation, we have full capacity to tailor our products to match your specications.”

“ We recycle tyre material to provide a sustainable closed loop for recy-cled rubber products. This means that products can continue to be recycled and re-used.”

“ Our processes reduce manufactur-ing costs by up to 50% compared to those of virgin rubber products.”

Since 1922, Narm Rubber has been manufacturing rubber products in Queensland.

During the Second World War we began to develop industrial product lines and by the mid-forties became a major player in the supply of both rubber footwear and industrial rubber goods.

Today, privately and Australian owned, Narm Rubber has created leading edge processes to manufacture new as well as recycled rubber products in natural and synthetic rubbers including silicon.

We supply products to a wide range of industries throughout Queensland and nationally including:

“ Through Narm Rubber’s technology, we can recycle rubber products into literally thousands of dierent rubber parts, pieces and products. Further-more, reusing these rubber products reduces escalating and damaging tyre landll.”

“ Our green material compounds meet ASTM and BS-EN norms for rubber item specications.”

Carbon footprint is a ‘measure of the impact human activities leave on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide’. Carbon osetting is used to compensate for your emissions by funding an equiva-lent carbon dioxide saving elsewhere. Most enterprises see valuable benets from their investment in sustain-ability in terms of cost savings, energy eciency, sta engagement and other business benets.

It is estimated that companies will be required to cut 25% of carbon emissions by 2020 and 50-80% by 2050 which will be mandated by both state and federal regulations. This will aect the availability and costs of energy which are expected to double within the next 10 years.

The carbon cost of manufacturing new goods and products is signicant and generating carbon credits through utilising Narm Rubber’s recycled rubber products creates a direct nancial impact. Furthermore, good environmental performance reduces risk, lowers costs, improves productivity and enhances your reputation.

As a key commercial benet, purchasing recycled rubber products provides the opportunity to utilize your carbon osets and carbon credits.

Narm Rubber holds 2 patents for our rejuvenation process. We are the only company in Australia to use a particular process of recovering rubber as granules and solvents for reuse. Rubber granules are converted into powder and powder is transformed into new product via our patented technology.

Narm Rubber’s IP and technology also meets the requirements of the Kyoto Agreement under Carbon Disclosure Pricing. (The Carbon Disclosure Project acts on behalf of institutional investors to promote disclo-sure of climate change strategies within organisations.)

We are a Green business and are members of :

The Australian Council of Recycling (ACOR)

ACOR is the national peak industry association for businesses in the recycling industry of Australia. They seek to support governments and the Australian community in helping Australia make the transition from an inecient and wasteful (linear) economic system – where products and materials are disposed of at the end of their productive life – to a highly ecient, sustainable (closed-loop) materials economy.

Green Building Council of Australia

Launched in 2002, the GBCA is a national, not-for-prot organisation that is committed to developing a sustain-able property industry for Australia by encouraging the adoption of green building practices. It is uniquely supported by both industry and governments across the country.

Green Building Council of Australia

Launched in 2002, the GBCA is a national, not-for-prot organisation that is committed to developing a sustain-able property industry for Australia by encouraging the adoption of green building practices. It is uniquely supported by both industry and governments across the country.

Each year Australia consumes about 540,000 tons of rubber products, around half of this being tyres. The remainder is in rubber hoses, mattresses, machine belts and a wide variety of other manufactured rubber products.

Trends over the last seven years have seen an increase of 33 percent per year in tyre imports. There are now record levels of tyres being imported into Australia to the value of $480 Million dollars per annum and this is creating a large impact to our environment. Scrap tyres take up large amounts of space in landlls and are often dumped into illegal tyre piles.

Benets of rubber recycling:

Less tyres being exported and burnt as fuel therefore less toxic emissions.

Products can be claimed as a recycled resource.

Rejuvenated rubber produces lower emissions than new products therefore reducing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and reducing energy costs.

With the reduction of landll through recycling there is less risk of res that create dangerous levels of air pollution.

A decade-long partnership between the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustain-able Development (WBCSD), the GHG Protocol is working with businesses, governments, and environmental groups around the world to build a new generation of credible and eective programs for tackling climate change.

Narm Rubber is also accredited in the Product Stewardship Scheme. The development of a product stewardship initiative was to assist in overcoming impediments to markets for end-of-life tyres and tyre derived products and to gain more value from the end-of-life tyres generated in Australia each year.

The scheme is designed to deliver a range of benets for individual participants, the tyre industry as a whole and for the community.

These include:

Increased use of a resource stream currently being disposed of as waste.

Reduction in the number of tyres not going to an environmentally sound use.

An enhanced Australian recycling industry and sustainable markets for end-of-life tyres and tyre derived products. Increased capacity to handle end-of-life tyres in Australia.

Creation of new markets for end-of-life tyres and tyre derived products through research and development.

An improved business environment particularly for tyre collectors and recyclers.

Increased consumer awareness of the impact of end-of-life tyre disposal.

Enhanced credibility for the tyre industry through demonstrated leadership in environmental management and adoption of corporate social responsibility strategies.

Environmental At Narm Rubber we provide a range of green products including:

Soft material mats for playgrounds, footpaths, sports grounds, entertainment areas, pubs and clubs.

Powdered Rubber which is made through a process of grinding rubber granulates to a powder. It is used as basis material for new products and application in the rubber and plastic industry. Consumer and industrial products that is long lasting, impact resistant & recyclable.

Our Green Products

Rubber MulchThis surface is a substitute for wood mulch; it lasts much longer and will not decay as quickly. Rubber mulch comes in many dierent colours and styles and is capable of many uses.

Narm Rubber is the only manufacturer of recycled rubber mulch, meaning we are the only supplier of this non-toxic product. Being non-toxic, is an important dierentiator particularly in use as a timber mulch replacement in parks, playgrounds and day-care centres.

The majority of soft-fall products on the market are imported. Products not made by Narm Rubber tend to be brittle and crack, resulting in a shorter lifetime and these products are often sold at a higher cost. They also cannot be recycled, leading to more permanent waste and long term damage to the environment.

Rubber CalenderingCalendering is a process which is employed to produce very highquality seamless rolls of rubber with extremely consistent thickness and density. Narm Rubber uses the calendering process to impregnate elastomeric compounds, into various natural andsynthetic fabrics, to produce composite sheets. The rubber along with the chosen fabric, is fed through a series of rollers many times under extreme pressure. This pressure results in a uniform sheet of high tolerance and high mechanical properties with all components melded completely into one homogenous sheet. The resulting materials are used in the manufacture of gaskets, water-proong membranes, insertion rubber and other similar products where uniformity and high mechanical proper-ties are important. Calendered rubber and composite fabric sheeting is used in a wide range of industries, with each application having its own specicrequirements. Narm Rubber’s broad experience and knowledge insures that our calendered material will satisfy your requirements. Calendered Rubber is used in many ways including:
