NAC Group Overview
NAC Group was founded in 1981 by the Managing Director Naeem Aslam Chowdry. The
company has a global presence and is a multi-national organization, with vast experience in
England, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and U.A.E. The company
has covered building types from airports to residential developments, from roads and bridges
to infrastructure projects. The area of specialty is concrete frame structures and all to do with
concrete. NAC has adopted a number of jobs preferred by the multinational contractors it has
worked with. Ranging from back to back contracts, lump sum agreements of performing as a
labor only agreement. Moreover, NAC has also seconded its manpower to other parts of the
project where NAC is not directly involved in managing the manpower.
The company started as a construction sub-contractor with works in Iraq in 1981 with 2,500
personnel at peak, extending into Saudi Arabia in 1983 and Dubai 1984. The company
consequently, moved into Turkmenistan in 1994 with the airport project as a sub-contractor for
Bouygues Batiment (French Main Contractor Construction Company). NAC worked on several
projects with Bouygues in Turkmenistan and carried on the association into Malaysia working
on KL Sentral Station. NAC has worked with international construction companies as preferred
sub-contractors; to name a few: John Laing International, Costain, ABV Rock Group Sweden and
Laing O’Rourke. NACs main clients remain to be Bouygues for 18 years, as NAC carried on its
long term association in Dubai on projects including the Ritz Carlton Hotel and F1 Theme Park.

Operations in the UAE
NAC took the opportunity to strengthen its foothold into the U.A.E construction market by
taking on a project with Bouygues Batiment International. The project is namely the 5-star Ritz
Carlton Hotel & Apartments with 420 workers. NAC was the sub-contractor on this landmark
project, worth 225 million Euros. Consequently, the company secured other contracts in Dubai
and Abu Dhabi. Old Town Commercial Island Dubai and The Alantis were workers on supply
basis, hence, NAC acted as the recruiters of the workers and were not required to manage the
employees. In 2006, the company also secured a contract in Abu Dhabi with a South African
company Murray & Roberts for the Abu Dhabi airport terminal 2 project.
In, 2007 NAC began work on Abniah cement factory in Abu Dhabi for Al-Tahuud Construction
Company. In, early 2008 NAC and Bouygues further extended their business associations, when
NAC was selected as a sub-contractor on the F1 Theme Park and Car Park Project in Motor City
Dubai.
