Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel, our local guide will be waiting for you to start a full-day exploration of Cairo's most famous sights, including the Citadel of Salah El Din, Mosque of Mohamed Ali, Egyptian Museum & Khan El Khalil excluding lunch. The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities has one of the world's finest collections of historical artefacts, bringing alive myths and legends from the country's past. The Citadel situated on a highly visible spur of the Mokattam Hills of Old Cairo, was the nerve centre of Egypt for almost 700 years. Mamluk sultans and Turkish governors resided in the Citadel, which is among the world's most splendid monuments of medieval warfare. Facing the Citadel is the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, built between 1356 and 1363 and perhaps the most majestic monument of Arab architecture in Egypt and the Mosque of Al-Rifai, which was constructed in two phases over the period between 1869 and 1912, when it was finally completed. Lunch is not included. You will be transferred back to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.
