The Amazing Journey

Page 2: Mybook

In the cool, unusual sunset, Pearly lay resting on a small, floating iceberg. She was not aware of the extreme dangers that are slowly approaching, and with that, she dozed off

Eventually, Pearly awoke and was facing an Arctic summer. Polar Bears don’t hunt for seals in this magical season, but she enjoys eating the fruits and berries that grow in the short Arctic summer, but all other seasons in the arctic, she will mostly hunt for seals. Pearly sat on the icy ground with her big, clear fur coat and white skin dragging on the ground as she made herself comfortable.

Pearly is one lucky mammal, because she has no natural enemies, her only predator is humans. She took a morning stroll and smelt man-made pollution in the air. This made her cautious. Her curious mind forced her to walk further, and soon enough she saw two dead polar bear bodies, covers in pollution. Poor Pearly couldn’t stand the sight, so she ran off and never thought of the dead bodies again.

Pearly the polar bear was tired of the continuous routine, so she decided to change her route a little bit. Pearly would go for an amazing adventure, EVERY SINGLE DAY! Today, she decided to go towards the hunting factory. Here, they skin the polar bear’s fur to make clothes and other useless accessories. She has been loathing this dark, miserable factory her whole life. Humans hunt polar bears for their big, warm, thick skin. It’s a sad reality and Pearly decided she had to do something to stop them in their tracks.

To Pearly’s shock, she was trapped by two Japanese poachers named Domo Kun and Vincent Dang trapping her in a small cage. She made sad noises, pleading for the poachers to let her go. The poachers held on tight to the innocent creature. The thing is, poachers never think before they act. Pearly was starting to think this was the end of her journey.

To her surprise, a male polar bear named Paul, proudly and bravely marched towards the harsh poachers. The hunters dropped their weapons and stared silently at the huge 1400 pound male, much bigger than Pearly and all other female polar bears. Paul stood up on both hind legs and moaned at the two poachers. He chased the poachers around and around until they felt the urge to stop. Finally, they found an entrance to the factory. After that escape, the poachers were never seen again.

It was Pearly’s 4th birthday and she decided to mate with Paul. This is the age when females start to mate. Her magical journey will end at the age of 25, so she still has a long life to live up to. Pearly started creating her warm den in the snow. She will hunt for lots of seals, because she knows she will be a mother soon enough

Pearly decided to search for Paul who was having a play fight with one of his male friends. From all the seals she has eaten she is slowly getting around with her fat belly. Paul followed her home.

The two cubs were born the next day. Their names were Ava and Shiver. Most polar bear cubs starve, but Pearly had enough food to go around. The two new-borns curled up and covered their noses with their paws like all other polar bears do to conserve heat, but sometimes polar bears overheat because their fur is so thick and warm!

Pearly has to hunt for food now and will swim 161 kilometres as a stretch. She is also known as an ice bear because she is at home on the frozen surface of the Arctic Ocean. She continues to hunt and will come back to her cubs as soon as she is satisfied.

Two and a half years have passed, and it is time for Pearly to leave her cubs. This is a sad experience for Pearly, but she had to fight her misery. As Ava and Shiver leave, Pearly and Paul still know that the rest of their journey will be remembered in history.
