After the first day, please give your child a hug and kiss at the front door and let them walk to their grade level hallway on their own. We encourage all parents to utilize the car rider line to drop off children in the morning. Staff will be prepared to greet students at 7:30a.m. Students will be dismissed to classrooms at 7:50a.m.
We appreciate your support as we establish routines for our students.
Lunch Procedures

Dismissal ProceduresWe encourage all students to be car riders, bus riders, or daycare riders due to the absence of sidewalks and construction. All zoned students are eligible for bus services for the 2019-2020 school year.
Each DLE family will be assigned a dismissal number that will stay with them during their time at Leonetti. These numbers should be clearly displayed during carpool pick up.
Bus Riders: As buses arrive, students will be called by their route number. Staff members will take attendance as students board their bus.
Day Care: All daycare students will be dismissed to their daycare bus once it arrives. Daycare buses will dismiss out of the cafeteria door entrance. Staff will take attendance as students board their daycare bus.
Walkers• Walkers will begin dismissal after the buses leave
• Walkers will be released to go home at the stop sign on Waters Lake and Sienna Parkway (521)
• Parents are not required to meet "walkers"
• If parents are meeting walkers, they must be standing across the street. The crossing guard will cross them over.
• No parking at any time on Waters Lake – there are signs posted in front of the school.
• Students will not be released to parents waiting in cars on the street – this is not safe and impedes the flow of dismissal traffic
Dismissal Procedures
Car Riders: Car riders must be picked up in the car rider line. Before leaving tonight, please make sure you have your dismissal number to display in your front windshield for staff to easily see. The car rider line begins at the left entrance of the school. Two lanes may be formed as cars wrap around the back of the school. Cars will stop at the stop sign at the back of the school and wait for staff members to direct traffic. Students will be called eight at a time using their dismissal number.
2019-2020
Final Thoughts
Thank you for working with us as we establish procedures for the 2019-2020 school year. We are looking forward to a wonderful year! Before you leave, please:1. Verify your child’s dismissal and sign off.
Please pick up your dismissal number tonight and use it during carpool on the first day of school. Please begin working with your child to memorize this number.
2. We would like to thank our amazing PTO. Please visit their website at www.dlepto.org.
