1. What did you think of the 'Me & My Instagram' exhibition? It was an interesting concept I thought it was a clever idea. It was interesting to look at the way someone looks in a portrait compared to how they show themselves on Instagram. Excellent draw of attention to the power of social sharing, and how photography helps share insight into personality and moments of happiness day to day. It was very creative! Fun, detailed and original. Brings to life the virtual world of social media and the way it is used, however it does not represent the negatives of social media which is a prominent problem within society. I thought that a lot of effort had been put into the exhibition and it was very well presented I think it was very well organised. The layout and presentation of the project was very good, showing the clear aims and intentions of your work and the overall aim. I thought it was really good! Well executed and professional. I found the pictures really telling of the people's personalities from those that I did know, and even though I didn't know all of them really well when I read the small biography I thought they matched up to the portraits nicely. It was nice to have a glimpse of other people's lives that you have never met before. I thought it was a great concept and idea, the exhibition was also very interesting. A very creative and different concept. 2. Was there any recurring themes you noticed throughout the exhibition? Such as the type of photographs, categories etc. The professional photographs were fantastic at showing the girls true personalities I noticed friendship and family was a theme present throughout the photographs. They were mainly all positive showing happy environments, good fun and memories Friends/family/boyfriends are some I saw! From what I remember a lot of the pictures were of holidays or having fun with friends Yes, all the participants in your project had Instagram and the self portraits you captured worked well in portraying their character. I liked the way the photography was taken with the black back drop Not that I can remember other than the use of head shots to show a persons portrait The so called selfie is a recurring theme; happiness during the holidays; friends in photos too Yes everyone seemed to have pictures with other people Distinct style of photography keeps the consistency of the exhibition intact, giving the different character profiles made you feel like you knew them just from their picture and instagram posts we saw.

Such as the type of photographs, categories etc.The professional photographs were fantastic at showing the girls true personalitiesI noticed friendship and family was a theme present throughout the photographs. They were mainly all positive showing happy environments, good fun and memoriesFriends/family/boyfriends are some I saw! From what I remember a lot of the pictures were of holidays or having fun with friendsYes, all the participants in your project had Instagram and the self portraits you captured worked well in portraying their character.I liked the way the photography was taken with the black back dropNot that I can remember other than the use of head shots to show a persons portraitThe so called selfie is a recurring theme; happiness during the holidays; friends in photos tooYes everyone seemed to have pictures with other peopleDistinct style of photography keeps the consistency of the exhibition intact, giving the different character profiles made you feel like you knew them just from their picture and instagram posts we saw.The types of photographs, the theme was clear through and the concept that was being conveyed.3. Did it leave an impression on you about how you use Social Media?the pictures chosen made all of the subjects look as though they were on holidays all the time, went out for dinner every night etc. it supported the idea that what people post on line is only a fraction of the truth.yes, I think after attending your exhibition it made me realise the types of photographs that people upload. It also made me realise how much we all try and make our photos look professional whether it is of food, friends or an event a lot of thought goes into how good and professional we intend for the photos to be which I did not notice before the exhibition. I also noticed due to the positive photographs that it is there to show the happy side of people and only what they want others on social networks to see.Yeah definitely. It made me realise how prominent it is in our lives daily. It made me realise I don't use things like Instagram or photo sharing sites as much as I'd like to, because I would have found it very difficult to choose 10 pictures from my Instagram that were my favouriteYes they I rely heavily on social media to communicate and have a nosey on other people.I wouldn't say it made a difference to the way I use social mediaIt didTo share moments I enjoy yes, but not to share every moment I'm involved with a camera in my pocketYes we use it to help portray things we do in our lifeIt made me realise that people post only the positives to instagram and it is a way of showing one side to a person, however describing that person in a way that words cannot. It didn't provide me with any new impressions however it did re-enforce what I already thought about social media.4. What was your overall impression of the exhibition?VthemselvesI think the overall impression was positive as I enjoyed being able to see the different photographs people regard as their favourite and reasons why. I was surprised at how much Professional effects are used. As with the exhibition as a whole it was very professionalooked great and was eye-catching from afar.I was impressed with the photos that were taken of the different people to portray their personalities and thought it was very successfulIt was a very good idea in showing what people used instagram forThe exhibition was really nicely set up and it was different to others which made it enjoyable to go and see. I noted everytime I walked by that there was some people there looking at the images and having discussions about it. Was really good :)I felt it had been well thought about. It gave me the impression that Instagram is taken for granted in the way we show off ourselvesThe display was very admirable and the project was something I've long awaited to see expressed more and appreciated moreIt was fantastic and left me feeling quite educated on how Instagram worksDetailed and enjoyable, a lot of effort was evidently put into it and money too! Different skills employed (photography, creativity etc.) allowed the exhibition to be original and different. You could tell a lot of hard work and thought had been put into the exhibition itself, it re-enforced already known concepts of social media which I thought was creative.

5. Is there anything you recommend or improvements that could be made?I felt that although the concept was very good, you could have gone a bit deeper and chosen pictures from the girls instagrams instead and juxtaposed what they post online with what they are actually like in real life. There is not anything I would recommend as I thought the exhibition was very successful in showcasing the intention. An improvement maybe having more text/writing from the people's who's photographs they were so the audience could see why they chose them as their favourite photographs. Can't really think of any improvementsPerhaps have a description from each participant of your project and ask them the importance of Instagram to them and have this shown at the exhibitionNope :)Maybe a wider range of types of people to give the exhibition a larger dynamic. It would be interesting to see guys and girls from many different backgrounds with totally different interests that show through their Instagram photos.Maybe a type up of what the next step in your work would be that would relate to 'Me and my Instagram'NoMaybe look into the way Instagram only shows one side to a person and the world we live in as a whole. It creates a deceivingly positive atmosphere however doesn't highlight the negatives in which people that do not use it go through. Overall definitely an original and creative exhibition which had a lot to say even just through the pictures taken! It should have been up in the SU so more people could have seen how creative the concept was!
