Wrecking Ball – Miley Cyrus.

• I like the idea of having a close-up of the artist’s face as the opening scene to the video as this allows the audience to understand the meaning of the song from the very beginning. I think this would work well for the opening of my video as the song is about being alone and therefore would illustrate the artist’s loneliness.

Midnight – Coldplay.

• I think the use of the negative editing in this video looks really effective as it is very different to other music videos which therefore creates interest for the audience. I also think editing the video in this way would make the artist stand out more, as you can see on this picture that the man is in white, contrasting with the darker background. Another thing I really like about this part of the video is the way it has been editing to make the man have multiple sizes of his head. I think I could use this in my video to symbolize confusion, and think it would look really good.

If I Could Change – Haim.

• I like the cinematography in this part of the video, and think doing a 360 degree of the artist would look really good in my video because it makes the video look fun, which contrasts to the meaning of the song. I also like this part of the video because I think this could be used to represent the loneliness of the artist, due to the artists being in the darker part of the shot.

Nicotine – Panic! At The Disco.

• For my video, I think the way this has been edited would look really good and would create the effect of loneliness, because I could place the artist in different areas and move her around, giving the illusion of disappearing and reappearing. I like this part of the video too, because I could use this to show how the artist is wanting something she doesn’t/cant have.

Let Go For Tonight – Foxes.

• I like the beginning of this video as it uses a zoom because I think this is a really subtle way of showing the audience who the artist is. I think this is especially good in scenes where there is a lot of people, because then it is easier to distinguish which one is the artist.

Happy Little Pill – Troye Sivan.

• I think the use of this ‘ghost’ effect looks really nice in this video and relates to the lyrics and meaning of the song. I think I could use this in my video to illustrate the unpopularity of the artist, due to the unnoticeable feelings she is feeling.
