A message from our Patron

It was an absolute joy to be back in Lyddington in October 2018. And so lovely to see so many of you again. Much of my time these days is spent in huge concert halls, so it’s good to be part of a movement that seeks to bring world-class music to more intimate venues, such as St Andrews, Lyddington. The acoustic is exceptional; you are very lucky.

And it certainly appears that your tireless committee have scheduled some wonderful concerts for you to enjoy in 2019. I do hope you will make the most of this amazing resource right on your doorstep.

2 for 1 Entry to Lyddington Bede HouseSet beside St Andrews Church, the Bede House originated as the medieval wing of a palace belonging to the Bishops of Lincoln. By 1600 it had passed to Sir Thomas Cecil, son of Queen Elizabeth’s chief minister, who converted it into an almshouse for 12 poor ‘bedesmen’ over 30 years old and two women (over 45), all free of lunacy, leprosy or the French pox. Using the 2-for-1 voucher at musicinlyddington.co.uk/offers.html, concertgoers can wander through the bedesmen’s rooms, with their tiny windows and fireplaces, and view the former bishops’ Great Chamber on the first floor.

Concertgoers: Two courses for £15.50.

Sit down at 5:30pm and you’ll be finished in good time for the concert. Booking essential.

Concertgoers: Enjoy 10% off the A La Carte MenuThe Old White Hart has been run by owners Stuart and Holly East for 22 years. The 17th-century building has recently been sympathetically extended, but retains its stone walls, beamed ceilings and open fires. Dining or sampling real ales, a warm welcome always awaits.
