TM Music Category Rules & Regulations Music Category Rules & Regulations 1. The competition is open to any Professional Bhangra Dance Group, Bhangra Dance Academy group, University Bhangra Group, and Competition-Only Group interested in applying. 2. The minimum age required to participate in this competition is 18 years. In the case where a performing team member is under the age of 18, a consent form MUST be provided by their parent. Every underage performer MUST have an adult guardian present throughout the show and the mixer. This could be the team manager or team captain. 3. No individual is permitted to perform for more than one team. 4. Each team must have a minimum of 10 dancers, 2 optional chimta/dhol players or 1 of each. The team is allowed to have 1 manager. 5. Maximum number of dancers allowed are 14. 6. All performances are to be minimum 6 – maximum 8 minutes in length. 7. Your time starts as soon as the mix or the boli commences. 8. The Performing team will be given 2 minutes prior to the start of their performance to set up and 1 minute to leave the stage at the end of their performance. A team that fails to abide can face deductions in marks. 9. There must only be 1 track/ file of supplied music and included visual. Any gaps for pauses or silences must be pre-recorded into the mix/file. The music mix including visuals must be created/mastered to the same volume throughout. The music mix/file will not be tampered or altered with under any circumstances during the stage rehearsals or competition performance. 10. The participating team MUST provide own instruments, props and costume(s). You are allowed to use props and instruments as part of the performance. It is your responsibility to make sure they do not pose a safety hazard to the others. 11. Your team is responsible for any damage and/or loss of props or other belongings brought to the venue. 12. Causing any damage to the stage floor from props, sticks, etc. is prohibited. No candles/open fire or sharp items such as swords/knives are allowed to be used as part of the performance. Teams will be liable for any fees related to structural or surface damage to the stage or venue, as well as point deduction from the overall score. 13. Glitter, confetti, or any other items that will require clean up are strictly prohibited. Any team using these may be disqualified and/or point deductions from their overall score. 14. Damage to the venue and/or surrounding property will be reported to authorities accordingly. 15. It is compulsory for all competing teams to attend the Teams Mixer. More info on team mixer will be provided later to selected teams. 16. The song selection throughout must not contain vulgar/abusive/explicit use of lyrics in ANY Language. There must be no reference to alcohol/ drugs in the songs used, under any circumstances. No songs to be used which disrespect women or another religion. 17. The Registration fee is non-refundable if your team is disqualified/decides to withdraw from the competition, regardless of the time-frame. 18. The Registration amount of 4,000 INR will ne refundable for the selected team after Bhangra Arena 2020. 19. Judges will be selected by the Bhangra Arena Core Team based on prior dance experience, judging experience, and any other criteria deemed worthy. 20. Judge's decision will be final and no team will be allowed to question it.
