1. ‘Off to War’ World War II TributeSponsored: by Chris DaltonHonors all the men and women of Sanford and Lee County who have and continued to serve andprotect our country. Muralist: Chris Dalton

3. Herb Thomas and the Fabulous Hudson HornetSponsored by; Central Carolina Enterprise Park This mural honors Herb Thomas and his Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Herb was instrumental in the birth of NASCAR and was honored with the following: 1965 National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame at Darlington, South Carolina; 1994 International Motorsports Hall of Fame Talladega, Alabama, Named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drives in 1998 and Inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina in June 2012. Muralist: Scott Nurkin

5. Sanford SpinnersSponsored by: Sanford Contractors This mural honors all Ballplayers who played for the Sanford Spinners in the Tobacco League. The Spinners played at Temple Park, the field and grandstand (which no longer exists) was built by the WPA. Howard Auman pitched for the Spinners. Muralist: Scott Nurkin

7. Visionary BuildersSponsored by: Knott's Funeral Home, Downtown Sanford Inc., Lee County Arts Council, Wilson and Reives, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), African Methodist Episcopal Zion Chruch and citizen donations. This mural honors Link Boykin - a builder and business owner in the 1900’s. Mr. Boykin is responsible for many of the fine buildings and homes in Sanford. Mr. WB Wicker is a much beloved educator. He was the first principal of the South Sanford Graded School.Muralist: Scott Nurkin
