- about 200 selected localities in the Czech Republic, chosen on behalf of the EU directive 2000/60/ES, which provide activities in the field of water policy

Selected localities are morphologically and hydrologically suitable areas for accumulation of surface moisture in the case of attended climatic change and global water crisis.

Special territorial protection …

The project should estimate effects of the special territorial protection in reference to limits of the area

The research proceeds on three levels:

• environmental (evaluation of landscape and its functionality, environmental criteria),

• social (social structure, public opinion) and

• economical (calculation of social-economic impact on landscape functions)

Selection in two phases1) Criteria

• Existence of landscape planning plans

• Protected areas (National parcs, NATURA 2000, etc.)

• Proportional dispersion in all regions

2) Criteria• Land arrengement• Rate of affected buildings• Measure of development

Selection of representative localities

• Core area and 2 km wide buffer zone were delimitated for each selected locality

• Forest areas were defined according to typological system of forest management planning institute

• Arable land were delimited according to database of estimated pedologic-ecological units (EPEU)

Layer of forest and arable land gave us basic polygon structure for land use mapping

The polygons were cut by a layer of linear elements – roads, paths, railways and rivers or streams

Problem with determination of small plots, e.g. non-forest wood elements

Analysis of data sources and delimitation of non-forest wood elements (GISAT)

• Data sources: EPEU, remmote sensing

• Land Use - 21 categories: agricultural land (arable, meadows and pastures), marshes (plant, woody), succession plots (abandonened land, dungs, dumps), orchards and others non-forest landscape elements, than forest areas, water plots and buildings

• semi-automatic object oriented analysis in DEFINIENS eCognition (version 8)

Results

• Combination of multi disciplinary approach should lead towards interesting results, utilise in future landscape planning in the affected areas

• Final results attended in 2012
