Smoother driving to the coast (A11) In September 2017, the

brand new A11 motorway

was opened to traffic.

ENGIE Fabricom handled

the electromechanical

engineering installations

such as the street lighting,

dynamic signage, vehicle

detection and the tunnels’

electrical equipment.

ENGIE Fabricom also

played an important

role in creating the dual

carriageway bascule

bridge over the Boudewijn

Canal. A first in Belgium.

Through our expertise, there is now a new, fast connection

between Bruges and Knokke. The road also separates freight

traffic from local traffic, thus increasing overall traffic safety.

A new life for tunnels (Brussels)

In 2016, ENGIE Fabricom worked on modernising the tunnel infrastructure in

Brussels. The renovated Stephanie and Montgomery tunnels are now equipped

with sustainable LED lighting. Since July 2018, the Leopold II tunnel is also

undergoing full renovation. We’re installing more than 800 km of power supply

cables, modernising the fire safety system, installing 200 cameras, an emergency

sound system and dynamic signage.

Innovative safety system revolutionises rail transport (Belgium)

Preventing train accidents is the goal

of the new ETCS (European Train

Control System) Level 2 signalling

system. The system we’re installing

along the tracks constantly checks

train speed, carries out an emergency

stop if necessary, or corrects train

driver errors. It also enhances

communication between the signalling

system and trains. We’re working in a

temporary business partnership with

Siemens on this project.

Our teams are working to install all the trackside

equipment, replacing the old signal boxes, the signal

cabling and the signals themselves, hence elevating

rail safety to the highest level.

Noorderlijn – the mobility project of the century (Antwerp)

ENGIE Fabricom’s multi-technical teams are applying their expertise every day to this

challenging infrastructure project in Antwerp. A new tramline will link the city centre with

the northern suburbs. ENGIE Fabricom has mobilised its multitechnical competences for

this major project: temporary redesign of the tram route, new catenary infrastructure,

renovation of the Londenbrug, renewal of public and traffic lighting for the entire project.

We are also handling the technical installations for the new underground parking garage

and the tunnel under the Operaplein.

ENGIE Fabricom seeks to pave the way for more sustainable mobility by delivering solutions for optimising transport network infrastructure, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing safety and fluidifying traffic.

drilling makes it possible to drill

over long distances in places that

cannot be closed off, or where the

surface cannot be drilled into, such

as motorways and waterways.

Thanks to horizontal directional drilling, the

underground infrastructure can be build quickly,

minimising inconvenience to the surrounding area.

High-tech workplaces for Barco (Kortrijk)

The Barco Technology Company site has been

considerably extended with the construction of

'The Engine', a 3,600 m² production hall with new

offices, sanitary facilities and a cleanroom. ENGIE

Fabricom designed the electrical installations, including

distribution, wiring, power rails, lighting, access

control, intrusion and fire detection, public address

system, surveillance cameras and sanitary installation

coordination, while ENGIE Axima carried out the HVAC

and the sprinkler system. ENGIE Fabricom had already

worked on the electrical installations of 'The Circle', the

impressive new central headquarters built on the site.

Energy efficiency and user

convenience and comfort are essential

in office buildings or cultural centres.

ENGIE Fabricom is often called upon

to provide the electricity hook-up

for these types of building, and our

multitechnical approach means that

we can respond to these demands. In

these markets, ENGIE Fabricom also

benefits from the expertise of its

sister companies, ENGIE Axima and

ENGIE Cofely. Furthermore, many

of the techniques involved can be

integrated into ICAROS+, our own

building management software.

State-of-the-art cultural institutions (Royal Theatre of La Monnaie, Brussels)

As part of the ambitious renovation of the La

Monnaie Opera House in Brussels, ENGIE Fabricom

devised a completely new lighting concept. The

auditorium, the stage and backstage areas were

fully fitted out with LED lighting.

Energy saving was key to this renovation. Around 1,500 halogen

lamps were replaced by LED technology. The objective was to make

the lighting as unobtrusive as possible for the public, while being at

the same time safe and user-friendly for the actors and technicians.

Office buildings and cultural institutions

Energy-efficient hospitals(AZ Sint-Maarten, Mechelen)

ENGIE Fabricom and ENGIE Axima
