1.2 Topology

The MSE6-E2M-5000-FB33-AGD is connected via M12-RJ45 Ethernet cable to the second port of the S7-1200 PLC

1.3 DIL settings of the CPX-FB33

Note:

MSE6-E2M-5000-FB33-AGD unit is a pneumatic device which contains the intelligence of a CPX-FB33 node.

-> That is the reason why it is recommended to use the CPX-FB33 manual as reference for the Profinet

commissioning.

2.1 Key requirements

You have a working Logix project already and it is possible to ping the PLC and CPX-FB33 via Laptop

2.2 Install the GSDML file

Information:

The GSDML is a device description file based on XML. It “tells” the PLC which kind of slave with pa-rameters is connected.

Step1: Start the GSDML Manager

2.3 Establish the Profinet communication

Step1: Drag and drop the E2M entry to the Profinet network

Step4: Create a Topology Advantage: Via a Topology and activated “assign” parameter (If the PLC supports it) you have not to care about Profinet name and IP address, because the PLC assigns it automatically. Without such function you have to ensure that Profinet name and IP address are equal in the project and Online in the network! A) Create a connection in the Topology view tap

B) Activate following parameter in the PLC

If the PLC is not supporting the parameter the alternative is an assign via Online connection and following func-tions:

2.4 Testing the E2M via watch table

The E2M contains 12 Byte input data (6 words= 4 Byte output data (2 words)

For example: To activate the shut off valve in the AM.0 word, Bit 0 has to be “True”. Am.-0 value to write is:

Caution:

The CPX is working with Intel format (factory setting) and the Siemens PLC is using Motorola format. To have no byte swap in the process data you have to change following parameter of the CPX

The parameters can be changed in TIA Portal directly:

After power off/on the modified parameters will be assigned by the PLC automatically. Example: Input word EM.2 contains the pressure
