Mensaje del Director Hola Mesa Familias,

Feliz casi marzo!

Monday, February 27: Book Theme: Oh, The Places You’ll Go! (wear a favorite college shirt or sweatshirt) The theme of this book is to “keep going” no matter what life throws at you so that you can accomplish your dreams. We want students to set goals and dream about their future. To honor this book we want our students to wear a college shirt or sweatshirt.

Tuesday, February 28: Book Theme: Green Eggs and Ham (wear green) In this book, it’s all about adventure and exploration-not that the words of the story would indicate that at all. In fact, there are only 50 words in this story!! Dr. Seuss wrote the story to teach children about the wonders of trying things one hasn't tried before. You might end up liking it!! To honor this book we’d like the students to wear the color GREEN!

Wednesday March 1: Book Theme: Fox in Socks (wear crazy socks) This book is full of Tongue Twisters, which is all about having fun with language. Some may say that the story doesn’t have a point; it’s just a bunch of silly words! But we’d say, “That’s is the point!” This book brings to a child’s attention just how much fun language can be. To add to the fun, we want our students to wear their crazy socks to school.

Thursday March 2: Book Theme: The Sleep Book (pajama day) This book is full of yawning fun creatures spread by one contagious yawn. By the end of the book, everyone is ready for bed. In honor of this book, we will come dressed in our pajamas. Students must wear closed toe shoes.

Friday March 3: Book Theme: The Cat in the Hat (wear red, black white & a hat) Although this book was written over fifty years ago, it has become a children’s classic. In this book, the carefree cat learns that helping others is more important than just having fun. Students wear red, black, white and they can wear their hats to school.

Other exciting events for the week:

Teacher/Class Banner decoration contest (to be hung in the library)- Deadline March 2

Daily Dr. Seuss activities/games in the library

Guest Readers-local community members visiting our school to read to our students-March 2

Dr. Bluestein & Mr. Turner will read a book to our students at the Student of the Month Assembly-March 3
