Mrs. Anna Eichele Liguori , 84,of Patchogue , matriarch of 73descendants , died last Saturdayin Brookhaven Memorial hospitalafter a few months ' illness.

Born in Brooklyn , she moved 60years ago to Patchogue , whereshe and her husband , Vincent ,proceeded to raise 14 children ,one of the iargest families in thisarea.

The Depression , plus thesubsequent loss of her husband ,placed a tremendous respon-sibility on Mrs.Liguori , but shesquarely met it .

The f a m i l y 's f inanc ia l cir-cumstances were limited as thechildren were growing up, but assome of them recently put it ,"What a cook she was , and shecould make a nutritious mealalmost out of nothing.

"And another thing, theyadded , "when we were kids , Mommade all our clothes . Fur-thermore , we always knew whereMom was-at home , and shealways had to know where each

01 us was.Mrs . Liguori was a lifelong

member of St. Francis de SalesRoman Catholic Parish.

Surviving are five sons ,Thomas G.
