If there wasn’t a program like this there to help her it’s very hard to think about what would have happened and where we’d be today, because I don’t think she’d be here.

AMY, Parent of a Child who Received Services in Crisis Psychiatric Care

letter & mission

Albertina Kerr partners with families and the community to support people with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges to lead self-determined lives and realize their full potential.

our mission

Renewed CommitmentIn the coming year, Albertina Kerr will launch a new era of care for the most vulnerable in our society. Thanks to investment in the Community Promise capital campaign, we are halfway toward completion of the Campus for Children’s Mental Health—a key resource for comprehensive mental health care for youth in Oregon. In addition, the Children’s Developmental Health Services team is developing a collaborative care model that will expand diagnosis and services for children with developmental delays and/or disabilities across the state through telemedicine. Finally, we continue to invest in innovations in group homes and employment services for adults with developmental disabilities to ensure they thrive in nurturing homes and inclusive communities.

This is an exciting time at Albertina Kerr and we couldn’t do it without you: our donors, volunteers, employees, families, and partners. The Community Promise campaign is the largest and most important investment we will make in nearly 100 years. Now is the time to help ensure children, adults and families always have the support they need to thrive. Thank you for standing together with Albertina Kerr to keep the promise today and for future generations.

Albertina Kerr is in the midst of the largest capital campaign fundraising drive in nearly 100 years. Investments in the Community Promise campaign will ensure the completion of the Campus for Children’s Mental Health, bringing together leading practitioners, critical program services and facilities designed to best care for this vulnerable population. More than $3.9 of the $6.5 million goal for the campaign has been raised to date and some projects are completed, however, continued investment is vital to renovate the historic Louise Home as a central hub for community-based mental health care as well as create a long term fund for the future of Albertina Kerr services. To learn more, please visit AlbertinaKerr.org/Community Promise.

2013—2014 highlights

A Legacy of Care

In 2013-14, Children’s Developmental Health Institute became part of Albertina Kerr to better meet the physical and behavioral health needs of children with developmental delays and/or disabilities. Today, a collaborative care project is underway to expand care through remote consultation, increased screenings, and case-based education and support for primary care providers from our experts.
