Sculpture and Ceramics I Today’s Assignment: In the library today we will be researching topics that will become the centerpiece of our upcoming project “Abstracted Opposition.” (After the presentation and any questions, please follow the steps below.) Step one Navigate your way through “Opposing Views.” Scan through several different topics and write down three you’re interested in. Finally, choose your favorite* and move to step two. *These topics that have been over used and are now off limits: (Bullying/Cyber Bullying, Drug abuse, Drinking and Driving, Stem Cell Research, and Paranormal Phenomenon) … If you feel you can do this better than it’s ever been done before and it’s a super important topic to you feel free to approach me about it. Step two Read through several articles on your issue. Then determine your stance on your topic of choice. Research and collect enough information* on your side of the issue to be able to write a onepage paper defending it. (Move to Step Three Do Not Actually write a paper) *Information should include facts, statistics, shocking information… ect. Step three Lastly, (and you may not get through this today, but try your best) come up with 6 to 8 questions about your topic and record three separate interviews* (On Quicktime) with your classmates, getting their opinions and stance on your issue. Finally, record your own thoughts on this topic, your stance, and why it is you chose this issue. Turn this footage into a short “imovie” that introduces me to your topic. * Review your questions with me before interviewing. Any questions or issues please ask for assistance. Mr. Yetter
