Background “Into Thin Air” Mt. Everest

Cause and Effect Divide into groups of 4 or 5 and pass out copies

of the “Cause-Effect” diagram We will listen to the audio of “Into Thin Air”. As

you listen, all members in the groups will record examples of cause and effect on the diagram.

Homework Read the “Sundiata” story. Explain why it is ironic that Sundiata

becomes king.
