RALLY DAY IS JULY 30 Kick off the new school year with a commitment to MPC! Please join the Christian Education Commit-
tee on July 30 for Rally Day. A pancake and bacon breakfast will be served at 9:15 a.m. and then every-
one is invited to explore the Anchor and find out all about the committees, groups, and Sunday school
and Wednesday night classes available at MPC. This is a great opportunity to find where you belong at
MPC.
Also, all the children are invited to bring their backpacks to church so we can bless them to start off the school year. Hope to see you there.
Do you say any of these things?
Let’s remember what God says in His Word. Look up these scriptures to encourage
you.

Dear MPC Family,
You will never know how
much Larry and I appreciate all the food,
calls, cards, visits and prayers you have
extended to us during Larry’s health is-
sues this year. Unfortunately, he still has a
lot of hills to climb so please continue to
keep us in your prayers. It is wonderful
being a part of such an amazing congrega-
tion as we have here at MPC.
Many thanks again for your love and con-
cern.
In Christ,
Noni & Larry Babb

Go-Go’s
Update
It’s about time to start planning our Go-
Go’s outings for the next year. Pat Rob-
inson and I have decided to become the
organizers (or “point people”) for the
group and operate it like we did two
years ago with a lot of participation from
our members. We met with Jill Stroud
and Doris Griffin last week and they
were happy with our plan but wanted
each one of you to know how much they
had enjoyed sharing last year with us.
We all need to thank them for all their
work to ensure the Go-Go’s had a great
year. We will have our organizational
meeting on Thursday, August 17th at the
Golden Corral in McDonough. Please
mark the date on your calendar, it will
start at 11:30am. You can help us by
writing down any suggestions you have
and bring them with you to the meeting.
We are also brain storming to come up
with a few new and different outings.
Let us hear from you if you have any
questions or suggestions.

Summertime…and the living is easy - unless you are a member of the Stephen Ministry at MPC! This group is continuing the challenging preparation process to become Stephen Ministers. The Stephen Leaders plan and present classroom sessions related to the numerous required train-ing topics. Meeting every other Monday night, the Stephen Ministry trainees explore these in-depth concepts and issues related to serving our congregation. Everything will come together in late summer when our first group of Stephen Ministers is commissioned and begins responding to the specific needs of our MPC Congregation. Please pray for our fledgling Stephen Ministry that we may remain focused during training and steadfast in our commitment to serve. MPC Stephen Leader Team
