The 55th annual United Way campaign will raise funds for 19 partner

agencies serving children, adults, seniors and individuals of disabilities in

our McDonough community.

Message from Jill Three years ago, I joined the United Way.

Since then, I have had the privilege of meeting

some incredible and caring people throughout

McDonough County. It is truly amazing being

a part of something that brings so many peo-

ple together. Our 19 Partner Agencies

served over 8,000 McDonough County resi-

dents last year. The 15 amazing members of

our Board of Directors helped oversee and

guide us through our campaign, consisting of

hundreds of individual donors and businesses.

Our Special Events raised more toward the

campaign last year than ever before and could

not have succeeded without the 45 volun-

teers that gave their time, energy, ideas and

advocacy. Over 200 businesses and individu-

als sponsored our Special Events, which were

attended by over 700 individuals - helping us

bring about change for those in this communi-

ty who need it most.

The United Way is a TEAM. We could not

succeed in our goal of raising money for local

agencies without the combined effort of hun-

dreds of people. I am so proud to Partner

with each of our non-profit agencies, to plan

with our Board of Directors, to convey the

importance of United Way to our donors and

to plan and carry out Special Events with our

Committees, Sponsors and Attendees. I can’t

think of a better way to kick off our

2012/2013 Campaign, than with a spirit of

TEAMWORK.

Thank you for being a part of the Unit-

ed Way TEAM!

Individual and corporate financial donations are the driving force behind each local United Way

campaign. Over the past twelve months, McDonough County United Way hosted seven Fabu-

lous events in our community dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support thou-

sands in need within McDonough County. Thanks to the generous contribution of our donors

and supporters, the McDonough County United Way raised over $107,000 during the 2011-12

campaign. The increased donation enabled us to bring on a new partner agency, Court-

Appointed Special Advocates Program, which widened our support to 19 McDonough County

human services agencies. The following event highlights showcase funds raised between April

2011 ~ March 2012 thanks to the generous support from individuals like you.
