Moving The Metro Project construction continues with work on the eastbound I-80 to northbound I-680 bridges to begin in March. Project work includes concrete bridge deck repairs, installation of a waterproofing membrane, and asphalt overlay on the bridges. There will be no access to northbound I-680 from US-275/N-92 (“L” Street) and “I” Street. Access to eastbound I-80 from US-275/N-92 (“L” Street) and “I” Street will remain open. Eastbound I-80 traffic to northbound I-680 will be maintained. Anticipated project completion is Fall 2016. A special construction update for the metro Omaha area Nebraska Department of Roads Spring/Summer 2016 Project construction is scheduled to begin in April. The work includes concrete bridge deck repairs with asphalt overlay, new sidewalks, fence and guardrail. Traffic will be maintained with at least one lane open in each direction during the project. All sidewalks will be closed eastbound and westbound during construction. The bike trail under the bridge will be closed for a few days with the public being notified in advance. The project limits of construction along N-370include the westbound lanes between US-75and 56th Street and the eastbound lanesbetween US-75 and 42nd Street.

Project work includes concrete pavementrepairs, milling and asphalt overlay. Bridgerepairs include concrete deck pavementpatching, installing a waterproofing membraneand asphalt overlay, replacing bridgeapproaches, grade beams, and guard rail.

Phase 1 construction is scheduled to beginMarch 28, on the westbound right lane ofN-370 between US-75 and 42nd Street with aday/nighttime permanent left-lane closure.When right lane repairs are complete, theleft lane will be closed for construction.

Phase 2 construction in the eastbound lanesof N-370 between US-75 and 42nd Street willbegin when the westbound lanes of Phase 1construction are complete.

Phase 3 construction includes the completionof the westbound lanes from 42nd Street to56th Street.

Concrete milling and asphalt overlay of theproject will occur in 2017.

Project construction continues along eastboundand westbound I-80 between Hwy. N-50 and50th Street in Omaha. The remaining work includescompleting concrete pavement panel repairs forboth eastbound and westbound lanes, diamondgrinding, joint and crack sealing, and permanentpavement markings of the entire project.

Traffic will be maintained with nighttime laneclosures and advanced message and warningsigns.

Anticipated project completion is July 2016.

N-370 between US-75 & 56th Street

I-80 between N-50 & 50th Street

Project construction continues this springalong N-133 between the US-30/N-133roundabout and County Road 36.

Work will include completion of thenorthbound lanes south to CountyRoad 30. When completed, head-to-headtraffic will be shifted to the newly pavednorthbound lanes from County Road 30north to County Road P26. Work will thencontinue on the southbound lanes fromCounty Road P26 south to CountyRoad 36. This work will include completingthe roadway grading and placement ofthe southbound concrete pavement.

It is anticipated traffic will be placedhead-to-head in the southbound lane priorto Winter 2017. All remaining constructionwill be completed in 2017.

Project construction is scheduled to begin inSeptember with the existing pavement beingreplaced with 24-foot-wide full depth concretepavement. Additional work includes culverts,permanent pavement markings, seeding, anderosion control of all disturbed areas.

This section of Hwy. N-31 will be closed to trafficduring construction. A marked detour will beprovided. The designated detour route forsouthbound Hwy. N-31 will be eastbound I-80 toeastbound Hwy. N-370 to southbound Hwy. N-50.The designated detour route for northboundHwy. N-31 will be northbound Hwy. N-50 towestbound N-370 to westbound I-80.

Anticipated project completion is November 2016.

Construction continues on theOmaha to Plattsmouth FreewaySystem with improvementsbetween the Platte River andFairview Road. Project work thisyear includes construction ofsecondary and county roadsoff the Freeway System, rampconstruction at the US-75 andFairview Road Interchange, bridgeand ramp construction at the newUS-34/US-75 Interchange, andrelocation of Platteview Road tothe new US-34/US-75 Interchange.

During Fall 2016, the new US-34/US-75 Platteview Road Interchangewill be open and existing LaPlatte

Road, Platteview Road andGrenoble Drive inter sections closed.The LaPlatte area will access thenew interchange by way of newcounty road connections toPlatteview Road and US-34.

Traffic will be maintained alongUS-34/US-75 during construction.In the Fall, traffic will be shiftedto the northbound lanes andbe restricted to one lane eachdirection head-to-head. Thisconfiguration will remain throughthe Winter months.

Anticipated project completionis Spring 2019.

US-34/US-75 between the Platte River & Fairview Road

Project construction continues on N-31 north ofElkhorn to US-30. The remaining work includes jointand crack sealing from N-64 to Bennington Road,permanent pavement markings and rumblestrips along the entire project limits, and grading,seeding and erosion control of all disturbed areas.

Traffic will be maintained with lane closures,flaggers and pilot vehicle.

Anticipated project completion is May 2016.
