Movie Opening Ideas

The titles and opening of a new fiction film

For the main task of the AS Media Studies course, our task is to create the titles and opening of a new fiction film. This will need to last up to 2 minutes.

Firstly, I decided to do a mind map of ideas on what to base my horror movie opening on. I thought this would be a good idea to do this, so that I could visualise some ideas and compare how well they would work. Also by having an image of ideas, I can see whether ideas may work together.

I thought that using children in my horror movie opening as children are vulnerable and they scare the audience more, this is because children are innocent and by changing the stereotypical idea of them, I think the audience will be more scared, then if I used adults.

Also I thought the idea of a game would be interesting to work with as with the rise of technology, it may make the audience compare the horror on screen to their everyday lives. I like the idea of a game being able to creep its way into a characters life and affect what they do.
