Question tags in English can be quitecomplicated. We use them to either get newinformation or to seek agreement. When we

seek new information, the voice intonation risesat the end, when we seek agreement the voicefalls. If the sentence is positive, the tag isnegative, and vice-versa. So, for example, Youlike bananas, dont you? has positive followedby negative, and uses the auxiliary do. If theverb is have, be or a modal, then the verb inthe tag is the same. All other verbs use do.
