Introduction:• In the United States, mothers have
been blessed with a National holiday called Mothers day.
• Mothers of modern day have God’s Word for their road map of success and instruction. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
• Let’s take a look at some principles of biblical motherhood.
Many Principles For Christians In Titus 2
• Speak right things! (BBE) “But let your words be in agreement with true and right teaching:” Titus 2:1– Every Christian needs to submit to this principle.
Psalm 19:14– We need to speak things which conform to what
God has taught us. “We teach by our words.”– Just think mother’s, your children and friends
learn from us in part by what we say. Proverbs 31:26; 2 Corinthians 3:2
Older Women As Mothers…
• To set the proper Christian example to others!
• “Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified (honorable/good character), self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3 Older women likewise (see above) are to be REVERENT in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,” Titus 2:2-3 ESV
Older and Younger Mothers
• As good Mothers, love your children and husbands!
• (ERV) By doing this they will teach the younger women to love their husbands and children. Titus 2:4
• Older women teach younger mothers about being a godly mother. 2 Tim. 1:5– Love your children. 1 Thes. 2:7; Isa. 49:15– Love your husbands. Eph. 5:33
More Principles For Modern Mothers
• The instruction continues in verse five, “(GW) to USE GOOD JUDGMENT, and to BE MORALLY PURE. Also, tell them to teach young women to BE HOMEMAKERS, to BE KIND, and to PLACE THEMSELVES UNDER THEIR HUSBANDS' AUTHORITY. Then no one can speak evil of God's word.” Titus 2:5; James 1:19; 1 Jn. 2:15-17
