SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Dear Friends, Today’s readings anticipate the Feast of Pentecost, which we will celebrate two weeks from now. Peter and John join Philip in Samaria to make sure that the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit, just as they had in Jerusalem. In the Gospel, Jesus promises His disciples that they will receive the Holy Spirit, Who will be another Advocate after His Own return to the Father. As we enter this new week, appreciate all the beauty around you and let the wonder of God rest in your hearts. Our prayer for each other is important: may you be filled with Easter joy, as were the Samaritans when they heard the Word of God proclaimed to them. I would like to congratulate Father Kiernan who is celebrating his fifth anniversary of ordination this weekend! We pray for his continued growth in holiness and that his life as a priest grow richer with the help of such wonderful people in our parish!
With thoughts of all of you, dear parishioners, whom we miss so very much! Be joyful that God rests in your home,
Father Cioppi

March will be rescheduled for the Fall.
PLEASE WATCH THE BULLETIN FOR
FURTHER INFORMATION AND PLANNING MEETINGS.
SPECIAL CORONAVIRUS PAGE ON OUR WEBSITE
MDP is responding to the Coronavirus pandemic and updating schedules and activities in accordance with Archdiocesan directives and guidance from government agencies. Our website, www.mdpparish.com, has a page that will be the hub for all the latest information and will be updated frequently as the situation warrants. As you know, this is an incredibly fluid situation, and things are likely to change at any time, so please check the website frequently for the most up-to-date information.
Our goal is to continue to provide you the opportunity to be a part of parish life as best as we can. We may not be able to come together as we usually do as a parish family, but we will do our best to “Worship God first, above all other things and then ‘go and make disciples'” in different and creative ways.
Parish Staff is working remotely, with reduced hours and there are no public office hours. If you call please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Or you can email Carol Murray @ [email protected]. Please be safe and healthy! God Bless!
MDP CARNIVAL - WE NEED YOUR HELP

GRIEF SUPPORT
These are extremely strange times that are forcing us to change our approach to supporting you in your grief. We understand that your grief process is not going to be on hold until we have the “all clear” to resume normal activities. But for a distant tentative plan to help you we have decided to move our Grief Support Group until the Fall. In the meantime should you find that you have a need to share your thoughts, concerns or even memories we want you to feel comfortable in reaching out to us by phone. You have several options with regard to your support person: Maureen Maskarinec - MDP Grief Facilitator 610-265-5840
Susan Dugary - MDP Grief Facilitator 215-460-7113
Jennifer Rose - Catholic Housing and Community Services 267-638-7038
We hope that you will call if you feel the need. We pray that you will find the strength to find your personal “new normal” in these challenging times.
WE PRAY FOR LIFE
O Blessed Mother, you received the good news of the incarnation of Christ, your Son, with faith and trust. Grant your protection to all pregnant mothers facing difficulties.
Guide us as we strive to make our parish communities places of welcome and assistance for mothers in need. Help us become instruments of God’s love and compassion.
Mary, Mother of the Church, graciously help us build a culture of life and a civilization of love, together with all people of good will, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
May our Blessed Mother draw women facing unexpected or challenging pregnancies close to her heart. Amen.

IT IS OUR RIGHT
AND
OUR DUTY TO VOTE!
Our April primary has been postponed until June. As the June 2 primary approaches, we are all reminded of the importance of performing our civic duty by voting.
This year, the State of Pennsylvania is encouraging people to vote safely by mail. To start the process of signing up for “Vote by Mail” go to www.pavoterservices.pa.gov and follow the directions.
If you do not have access to the Internet, you can also get a paper application for “Vote by Mail” by calling the PA Department of State at 1-877-868-3722.
A CORONAVIRUS PRAYER Jesus Christ, healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty and sorrow. Be with those who have died from the virus. May they be at rest with You in Your eternal peace. Be with the families of those who are sick or have died. As they worry and grieve, defend them from illness and despair. May they know Your peace. Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process. May they know Your protection and peace. Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks. May they know Your peace, as they work together to achieve it on earth. Whether we are home or abroad, surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or only a few, Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare. In place of our anxiety, give us Your peace. Jesus Christ, heal us. Amen
A PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS God our Father, who wills that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of Your Truth: We beg You to send Laborers into Your harvest, and grant them grace to speak Your Word with all boldness; so that Your Word may spread and be glorified, and all nations may know You, the only God, and Him whom You have sent, Jesus Christ Your Son, Our Lord, Amen.

During this time of social distancing, routines have been interrupted. You
can still order Scrip and remain socially distant. The best ways to do
this is to go to www.greatlakesscrip.com and reload
your existing cards. You can order Electronic Cards as well. If neither of these work for you, you can call the parish office at 610-265-4178 and
leave a message for an order. Or you can call Mariann Bevenour at 610-212-7520 to place an order. We can then make arrangements to deliver orders
and pick up payment.
