PRIORITIES

A wealthy man one day was driving his Rolls Royce and

had an accident -- a very bad accident. The car was totaled. A

policeman came on the scene and got the man out of the car.

As the man re-gained consciousness, he said, “My Rolls! Oh, my

Rolls!”

The policeman said, “Sir, I’m sorry but you don’t have time

to worry about your Rolls. It’s just a car. We’ve got to rush you to

the hospital because you arm has been severed at the elbow.”

The man then said, “My Rolex! Oh, my Rolex!” He had his

priorities mixed up.

It has been said that when we own things ... that can be a

good thing. But when things own us ... that’s always a bad thing.

Possessions make good servants but horrible masters.

The key to a balanced life is to keep our priorities in order!

We extend our condolences to the family of Maggie Johnson as she passed away on the 14th. The visitation will be at 1 pm and the funeral at 2 pm TODAY at Leak Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be given to Agape of Central Alabama. Her daughter, Elaine Cobern, has appreciated all the care and love shown to Maggie by her church family and her dear Ladies’ Bible Class.

You are invited to a reception honoring Sam & Jeanette Long’s recent marriage. It will be TONIGHT following the PM service in the Fireplace Room. We are asking that any gifts be in the form of gift cards (groceries, eating, movies, gasoline, hardware, etc.).

The UCC church office will be CLOSED TOMORROW for Martin Luther King Day.
