• Hello everybody! I’m Charles Louis de Secondat, I was born in Bordeaux , France in 1689 to a wealthy family. Despite my family`s wealth, I was placed in the care of a poor family during my childhood. Later I went to college and studied science and history, eventually becoming a lawyer in the local goverment. My father died in 1713 and I was placed under the care of my uncle, Baron de Montesquieu.

• He died in 1716 and left me his fortune, his office as president of the Bordeaux Parliament, and his title of Baron de Montesquieu. Then, I was a member of the laws and customs and goverments of the countries of Europe. I also traveled through Europe, including a year in Italy and 18 months in England. I distinguished 3 types of government :(monarchies, republics and despotisms).

• Well! New I`m going to talk about my ideas. I believe in the separation of powers. My ideas will become the basis for the United States Constitution. Despite everything I approve of slavery.
