The Museum of Ethnology is designed based on the Hungarian folk. Theconcept is inspired by the public market (Agora) where it gathered allthe people to the place for public announcement, readings, shows, ex-positions, etc.Every people will feel the Museum as being a partial owner, although itis private.

The museum shape is simple and strong. Everyone recognize the formand it will work as a landmark to the city and to national level. Itsshape that refers to Yin and yang bid an extreme interaction betweenoutdoor and indoor spaces. It invites people for curiosity. Its locationon the border of the Park and City make it works as a transition toboth ways while creating a barrier to the Park. The building is dividedin two parts: a built part hosting Artifact collection/ human knowledgearchive; and an open part where people, functions and activities meetsto form a dynamic and vibrant space.

The contrast between the dense city and the park articulates a trueurban experience, and as such, the Museum of Ethnology also reflectsthe diversity of its users.

The design of the new Guggenheim Museum is simple and strong to workas a Landmark to the city. Its shape arise from the Genius Loci. Thebi-directional axis of the urban grid defines the twisted movement of thevolume. To mark the breathtaking panoramic views of the side, the Musum itself is a mutant piece of art. It frames all 3 churches on differentviews, the panoramic views and changed its appearance on different agles. The museum provides therefore continuously free art to its envi-ronment.

A pedestrian bridge will welcome the visitors of the Thtitornin VuoriPark to the esplanade, where it gathered all the people to the placefor outdoor seasonal programming and to the Museum. That will attractand fill the area with dynamism to interact between indoor and outdoor. The esplanade with its caf/bar is also accessible from the city-side bystairs which can be used as seating tiers for performances. The retailstore is located on ground floor level at the city side while the restau-rant is situated on the waterfront and will provide outdoor seating.

The Guggenheim Museum has an atypical

atrium running as an infinity loop through-out the building. It will support differentfunctions as exhibitions, performances, lec-tures, etc. The atrium of the vertical aislesof the building has a slope with straightwalls revaluating the unique aspect of theoriginal Guggenheim Museum.

One vertical aisle will attend the exhibitionsof artists while the other aisle is reservedas a center of education for research andupcoming public artists such as students. The platform that connects both aisle willwork as a social interaction between thepublic and the artists. The upper horizontalbar is dedicated to the main exposition ofthe Guggenheim museum.

The Baltic Thermal Pool Park still offers a free view to the sea forits surrounded citizens thanks to its volume perforated by spaces thatprovides additional greenery parks to the building area. Visitors mayuse those covered outside spaces all year round. They are sheltered torain and sunshine. The building facade generate from the urban grid. Its material is ofco crete mixed with wood submerge itself to the natural environmentand reinforce the contrast between built and nature. It refers to theremains of 19th century fortifications that are still found throughoutthe city. Its position offer a side in front of the beach and another in front ofthe preserved Park area. The building shape is a rectangular bar thatcontrast with the nature, determining the building area with the historicpreservation of the site. The use of heights provides more open viewsto the sea. The CC H55 shape results of its location in the urban fabric and topographic area. It starts in amovement as an extension from the peak-facade of the adjacent building towards the clock towerof the church ending in a high peak. The roof structure of the CC H55 is an application of thetraditional character of the surrounding buildings with a contemporary touch of style. The highpeak refers to the highly gothic style of Prague, city of a hundred spires, and gives a dialoguewith the clock tower of the church.

The shape of the CC H55 is lowered in the middle to leave an open view to the garden from thestreet level and give easily independent pedestrian access to the garden. The parabolic movementprovides the cellared level partially of natural light for daily use of the spaces, and give thepossibility to use the roof as an amphitheatre for outdoor events. The building is clad in woodto integrate both the green surroundings and the character of the street. The entrance of thelibrary is at street level. The Community Centre and its multipurpose hall is accessible throughthe lobby from the side wall on the side of the church, which allows easy access to the church forjoint celebrations.

The House of Fairy tales for the Hans Christian Andersen Museum isdesigned based on transmitting a story to the visitors and its public. TheHouse of Fairy tales is composed of a museum part which is undergroundand 10 Follies Houses disperse on the Lotzes Garden. The Follies Houses get their origin from Hans Christian Andersen birtplace and fan out through Lotzes Garden to invade the city starting onthe Thomas B Thriges Gade towards the world like missionaries. Theybrings his stories to the peoples.Originate the Follies Houses were transformed and detached from the

typical neighbor houses on the urban grid. They became living and theymoves freely on the Lotzes Garden like the public. Together with thevisitors of the Garden they form the public. Each Folly House has a story to tell. Their facade are all in white highgloss painted aluminum with cutting pattern from the collection of thepapercuts works. Inside those installations the natural light will give anenchanted atmosphere. During daytime the natural light will project.Andersens work inside, while at night the inner artificial light will shinehis work to the world.

CityZen is a neighborhood where generations (families, adolescents andthe elderly) can live in a variety of buildings predestined for them.So each generation will have their own building in the CityZen neighborhood. The site includes many level differences. In the current situation isalso located a university campus called Musica Mundi. This building isintegrated into the draft of the new buildings. The different buildingsare being positioned across from each other; this creates (walking)spacesbetween the buildings. These spaces are all connected with each otherand lead to a center in the middle of all the buildings. This will allow thecampus to have enough space and also to stand with the other buildingsin harmony.

The site is bounded on the east and west by a highway with lots ofnoise pollution and a water treatment plant. To avoid disruption of thesefactors, there is morphology conceived which both the profiles of thebuildings refines and will also give an unobstructed view. This morphology consists buildings that reach their highest point in thecenter, and hit the ground at the edges. This shape will allow the buildingto be sound absorbing. On the slope of the buildings there will be roomfor a continuous park from the ground to the roof gardens. The concept is of additional value for the neighborhood and providescomplementarities between the city life, which is situated below withcommerce, shops and the care center one hand and the rustic peacefullife on the rooftop with the intervention of collective gardens and thepark terraces on the other.

The New Athletic Stadium of Brasilia is designed based on rethinkingfunctionality of sports in todays social communication.Composition of the Stadium is a contradiction itself, classical ancienttypology of a stadium has fleeted to a new approach. It gains a rectan-gular form and it is based in straight lines and sharp angles, althoughthe form itself is monumental with applied combination of materials, itgains lightness and elegance that would compare to the iconiccurved structures of Oscar Niemeyer. Therefore the Stadium works asa sculptural landmark.

Defining part of the new approach is integration and communication, not only inside the Stadium, but also in a dialog between it and itssurroundings and society. Through this concept Stadium gains a wideentrance part, it becomes easily accessible to everyone and also easesthe evacuation process in unlikely case of need for it.The spatial planning of the stadium allows visitors to be in the centreof the action at all times.

    1. EURALILLEYOUTH CENTER

Project :youth hostel, kindergarten, officeLocation :Lille,FRANCEStatus :1st Prize 2011Client :SAEM Euralille

Architect :JDSJDS Team: Olfa Kammoun, Mohamed Bouzrara,Renaud Pereira, FelixLuong, Heechan Park, Kamile Malinauskaite,Size : 6000

Over the past twenty years Lille has become a European hub; a destina-tion for business and congress, a great place to study and live and alsoa tourist destination. It is a city with a turbulent history of conquestand reconquest, a heritage as an important medieval city and later theindustrial capital. It is this history, the unique and striking presence ofremnants of ramparts of the citadel, which the project seeks to mention.

Our project emerges from the idea of creating an urban catalyst, ac-commodating three distinct programmes on a triangular site. By placinga program in each point of the triangle we offer maximum privacy whileallowing them a closeness and continuity of space, organized around agarden, like a cloister of calm in the center of the city. The lifting ofthe mass of the programme at the corners illuminates and activates theadjacent public spaces and creates a continuity from outside to insidethe building.
