ABOUT THE CONFERENCEThe Companies Bill 2015 signals the most far-reaching and fundamental changes to Malaysian company law since 1965. The Bill is expected to modernize the overall corporate legal framework, simplify procedures on doing business and substantially transform and create synergy in the way people conduct business in Malaysia. As a follow up from the deliberation of the proposed legal framework contained in the Companies Bill at the SSM National Conference 2014, this year’s Conference brings together corporate thought leaders and practitioners to share their insights and discuss the impact of the impending new Companies Bill on directors, shareholders and corporate intermediaries.

The Companies Act provides pro-business initiatives, good corporate governance, corporate responsibility, enhanced disclosure norms, robust enforcement, management and audit accountability, shareholders activism, minority protection, better institutional and insolvency framework and regulations.
