Spread over 115,000 Route Kilometers, Indian Railways, the 3rd largest rail network in the world is truly India's lifeline.

It's long distance and suburban network carries more than 23 (1)million passengers and an estimated 3 million tons of freight daily.

MODERNISING

THE RAIL TRANSPORT

It is estimated that with the continuously growing population and economy, the share of Indian Railways in per capita mobility may rise from 6,000 km in 2010 to 26,000

(2)km by 2050 . Responding to the need of the hour to upgrade the network to global standards, Hitachi is closely working with Indian Railways and DFCCIL for Co-Creating enduring solutions to modernize the mainline and construction of the greenfield dedicated freight corridors. This would enable the network to meet the growing demands for safer, efficient and faster transportation of people and goods.

Recognized as a global provider of Railway System integrated solutions, Hitachi is well poised to offer a vast bouquet of infrasctructure as well as digital solutions in India

for a complete transformation into a much needed highly efficient railway network.

As a comprehensive rail-systems integrator and manufacturer, Hitachi possesses a unique blend of intelligent solutions that encompass an impressive line-up of safe, energy efficient, modern and aesthetically pleasing rolling stock, latest signaling & train control systems, advanced Traffic Management Systems (TMS), Hi-tech Power Supply systems, Passenger/Information Service Solutions integrated as a complete using digital technologies to be leveraged by the railway operators.

Envisaged to accomplish optimal performance with safety, the aesthetically blended rolling stock and its propulsion system is fully capable of offering customized solutions to suit

Indian environment with customers affordability.

Faced with the challenge of escalating traffic, a robust Signaling & train control system is essential for safe and efficient rail transport. Hitachi's highly responsive and durable signaling systems are meeting the needs by improving safety, enhancing operational efficiency while curtailing the corresponding rise in management and maintenance requirements. Thus, contribute in keeping the process lean and effective.

Hitachi's Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO) and Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) System have revolutionized the train operation and its safety in Japan and around the world.

Always at the forefront of latest technologies in digital signaling,

India's Lifeline Now Safer and Faster

by installing one of the largest advanced interlocking systems

(3)at Kharagpur in Bengal, Hitachi Rail STS (Hitachi Rail STS), has been instrumental in exponentially augmenting the capacity of one of the largest hubs in the country. As a result, from 423 trains in the recent past it can now set 800 routes

(3)per day with enhanced safety and maneuverability. The highly capable train monitoring and diagnostic system that enables centralized monitoring of each train position.

Concurrently, by undertaking one of the largest signaling and telecommunication project of Dedicated Freight Corridor, Hitachi led consortium is boosting Indian Railway's freight carrying capacity, making the network a lot more relevant to India's growth story.

The growth in economy and increasing population is pushing the India railways to advance rapidly. To meet the rising

challenges of a busier network, Hitachi presents its legendary IT x OT capability to further present an ensemble of critical solutions like –

Ÿ Efficient Traffic Management system- not only does it re-adjusts the train's operations during disruption, but also communicates accurate information and relays warnings to the maintenance personnel for an unperturbed journey and the convenience to the customers.

Ÿ Optimizing Cost and minimizing carbon footprint – Adhering to the demanding quality standards of the Railways, Hitachi is offering highly customized power supply equipment that minimizes cost and carbon footprint of the network through its superlative performance and endurance.

Ÿ In-Station Transit – For greater convenience and efficient transit within railway

hubs that witness high human traffic, Hitachi unique series of escalators, elevators and moving walkways ensure safe and swift commute of people.

Ÿ Passenger/Information Service Solutions - To enhance the administrative efficiency on the face of the rising graph of commuters, Hitachi's passenger/information service solutions holistically amplify productivity yet effectively manage to harness the rising operational costs.

With these slews of revolutionary end-to-end solutions Hitachi is emerging as a partner in India's integrated growth. Its contribution to the transformation of Indian Railways, Hitachi is committed to make Rail travel in India safer, smoother and faster benefitting millions of people across the country.
