Does it provide student feedback- Yes, there are progress reports and rewards for students.

What kind of higher learning thinking skills does the app encourage- This app engages students to use comprehension, knowledge, application and in the upper levels requires students to synthesize.

Ease of use...is it intuitive- ABC mouse has a lot of tools. It is slightly difficult to navigate at first to find out what exactly you want your students to use. Once you are familiar with the website then it is easy to show students how to use.

What kind of privacy does it offer- The privacy agreement states it is a closed site, only registered members can access it. Children are unable to communicate with anyone else while on the site.

Are the skills reinforced connected to your curriculum standards/student outcomes- Yes, the skills are aligned with common core standards.

Does the app provide easy to follow and comprehensive instructions.- The app does provide step by step instruction to set up the profile as well as how to use the apps content.

Grade Level- Kindergarten

Specific Uses in Classroom- Aligned with common core. Aids in 1) Counting 2) Addition 3)Subtraction 4) Measurement and Data 5)Geometry

Feedback- The app provides immediate feedback. Students earn coins for rewards. It also adjust its difficulty level base don student performance. It also has student reports and progress charts.

Higher learning- Students must use knowledge of prior knowledge as well as comprehension. Students will also apply new skills learned to move forward to more complex math.

Ease of use- The app was user friendly.

Privacy- I read over the privacy policy and it appears to be standard. It is a closed app, on registered users are allowed in. Students are not able to communicate with other users. The student information is kept private.

Skills reinforce student outcomes- Yes the app provides skills that are linked with student outcomes expected in my class and aligned with common core standards.

Does the app provide easy to follow comprehensive instruction?- Yes, students will need to have the app modeled at first so they know what math sections to begin in. After they are familiar with the specific math sections they will be able to go further on their own.

Name- Phonics Fun on Farm Educational

Grade level and content area- Pre-K to Kindergarten

Specific uses in the classroom- Phonemic awareness, letter writing, letter recognition, spelling, reading words and sentences.

Does it provide student feedback- The progress tracker will record student performance and will not move a student forward until the master the current skill. They receive digital stickers for each completed assignment.

What kind of higher learning thinking skills does the app encourage- Students are required to use knowledge, comprehension, and application.

Ease of use...is it intuitive- It is very easy to use and fun for young students. They are able learn while playing games at the same time so their attention span is longer.

What kind of privacy does it offer- The privacy policy was standard. It collected the data entered by the user and only used the child’s gender and age for push notifications.

Are the skills reinforced connected to your curriculum standards/student outcomes- The skills reinforced are used daily in my Kindergarten class. Students have to learn their letter sounds and site words. This is aligned with several common core standards.

Does the app provide easy to follow and comprehensive instructions- Yes the instruction are simply. An adult could show the child how to do the activity one time and they would be able to practice on their own or with a friend.

Does it provide student feedback- There is no progress report generated to monitor students. Students do have to complete a level to go onto the next. Students are given app rewards when they complete a section successfully.

What kind of higher learning thinking skills does the app encourage- The app encourages students to use their application skills of letter recognition to identify animals and what sound their animal name begins with. Students need to use comprehension of animals to pronounce the letter sounds.

Ease of use...is it intuitive- The app is easy for young children to navigate.

What kind of privacy does it offer- They do not collect personal information such as address and phone number. They do not contact children and children are not allowed to communicate with any members within the website.

Are the skills reinforced connected to your curriculum standards/student outcomes- Yes, students are required to recognize letters and letter sounds by the end of Kindergarten.

Does the app provide easy to follow and comprehensive instructions- Yes the app is very clear and explains each step.
