• Investment Framework is based on increase in ART provision – civil society needs to articulate and cost our role in uptake and adherence to ART

Community mobilisation for HIV has benefits, outcomes and

impact well beyond relatively limited HIV-specific objectives.

Are governments appreciating community mobilisation in its

diverse forms?

Communities are complex: we need to appreciate and

articulate the many communities within communities and the

need for differentiated approaches.

Future directions

• Ensure the investment framework is on the national agenda

• Provide the evidence that community mobilisation works

• Advocate for a more high impact, precisely targeted and costed national HIV programme
