APPLE Apple acquired Seattle firm, Union Bay Networks then signed a lease for 30,000 square feet with room for about 200 employees at Two

Union Square in the center of downtown Seattle.

BEST BUY Best Buy has opened a 32,000

square foot office in the backyard of Amazon. It hosts about 50 engineers, product managers,

web architects and developers, with room to grow to as many as

100 employees.

BOOKING.COM (PRICELINE)

Priceline Group’s Booking.com unit is growing like

gangbusters in Bellevue and acquired Seattle startup

Buuteeq for a rumored $125 million to $140 million.

CLIMATE CORP The San Francisco weather data crunchers

established a branch in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood in 2012. It now

employs over 45 engineers and scientists and moved into new digs with room to

more than double.

DASSAULT SYSTEMS A key Boeing partner, the French

software company opened an 11,000 square foot office in Seattle’s South Lake

Union neighborhood in 2011.

DROPBOXDropbox has established a small

engineering office on the 64th floor of Seattle’s Columbia Center.

The 13,000-square-foot space gives the company room to grow

to about 50 people.

EBAY The online retailing

powerhouse is growing from 200 employees to

more than 340 employees in 2016. The company

has inked a 53,000 square foot lease at One Bellevue Center and the new office

operates as one of the company’s “Centers of

Excellence.”

EMC Acquiring Seattle’s

Isilon Systems for up to $2.25 billion, the storage giant is in a 140,000 square-foot

building on 1st Avenue South in Pioneer Square.

EXPEDIAExpedia purchased

Amgen’s campus. The iconic waterfront campus will have enough space to add as many as 1,500

employees by 2018. There are currently 3,000 Expedia employees in the

region.

FACEBOOK The social networking

giant will occupy a recently completed

10-story building just a few blocks

away from Amazon’s growing campus.

The space can accommodate as

many as 2,000 employees. Its

sweeping skyline and waterfront views have dubbed the building the “Ferrari” of tech

offices.

GODADDYGoDaddy opened its Kirkland office in

November 2013 with just 10,000 square feet of space and has grown from 14 to 127 employees in two years. The company now

occupies more than 32,000 square feet on the waterfront of Kirkland’s Carillon Point.

GOOGLE The granddaddy of the

Silicon Valley titans now employs more than 1,900 people in the Seattle area.

GROUPONAfter opening in 2012,

Groupon’s Seattle engineering center has

grown to 250 employees and has become their

second-largest office in the U.S.

HP HP announced that its Helion

cloud engineering effort will be based

in Seattle. The company said that it planned to add more than 200 in the next

18 months.

HTC HTC America now employs about 160 employees in the

local office. The software and services group, known as HTC Creative Labs, employs about

120 in Pioneer Square.

HULU The Seattle office

for the online video pioneer employs 35 engineers and

developers under the direction of Chef/

Opscode co-founder Barry Steinglass.

HBOThe HBO Now streaming service has been a major focus of its Seattle office.

HBO has quadrupled its office space in Seattle, expanding its

engineering capacity.

JAWBONE The San Francisco maker of Bluetooth

headsets and speakers set up shop in Seattle

in 2011.

LYFTThe San Francisco-based ride-

hailing company established an office in downtown Seattle. Their

goal is to grow with local tech talent.

MITSUBISHI AIRCRAFTThe arm of the famous Japanese

automaker employs about 150 engineers in Seattle’s Georgetown

neighborhood. The engineers analyze and test flight data for the new

Mitsubishi Regional Jet.

NEW RELIC The app analytics

company has a small engineering outpost in Seattle.

ORACLEInked a 17,000 square-foot lease in Seattle’s Century Square high-rise and is hiring more than 100

engineers for the new office.

TWITTERTwitter has expanded its

downtown Seattle office. With just under 100 employees,

Twitter has leased an additional floor, doubling the capacity of

UBERUber opened a Seattle

engineering office, hiring 50 people or more this year

in 2015.

SALESFORCEThe cloud services giant announced that it will be

opening an office in Bellevue, doubling its regional presence

and turning the Seattle area into its second largest engineering

hub, with space for 375 employees.

SAP SAP purchased Concur in a $8.3

billion deal. Concur employs 4,200

SPACEX SpaceX opened an office in Redmond to play a lead role in developing satellites for the Internet constellation with over 60 people and

may grow to 1,000.

SNAPCHATA small and secretive office inside the SURF incubator,

indicates that Snapchat has permanent plans for the

Seattle area.

NUTANIXThe privately-held San

Jose data storage company established an engineering office in Seattle and hired

30 people for the new office.

SEARSSears opened a new engineering office in Seattle’s Columbia Center. The office is led by former Amazon executives to

upgrade the company’s technologies and online user experience.

IBMAdd IBM’s acquisition of Blue Box as further

proof that Seattle is one of the most sought after

cities when it comes to cloud technology. HP, Oracle, Amazon,
