The state of MobileA mobile phone is an essential device for a media consumer, but is also now the most important piece of equipment for a modern journalist.
What does it meanfor journalism?
• The way we report is different> Our phone is a portable computer that empowers us to collectmultimedia content
• The way we distribute stories is different> We can file from almost anywhere, as well as doing a live shot
• The way we tell stories is different> Through apps and other accessories, mobile technology ranges from live streaming to augmented reality
• If done right, we can potentially make revenue> From paid apps to free-mium models to traditional ads, there are different business models - that’s not tapping into the wealth of user data being collected.
