An extensive trench was dug to contain water pipes and wiring to run from the water tower to the dormitories and from there to the orphanage. The trenching was difficult due to the areas that had a lot of rock in it; a lot of elbow grease went into digging that trench and the combined efforts of the Haitian workers, a handful of Americans, and our hard working construction team allowed us to complete that project as well. During the March break a group of 15 volunteers set off to Haiti to continue with the construction projects in Messailler at Pastor Charles’ mission center. Unlike previous mission trips with MTH Canada, this group had the sole focus of construction as we did not have doctors, nurses, or sponsorship personnel as part of our group; we did have a dentist and although some dentistry was done, his focus was with the construction team and doing daily events updates on the website as well as photo uploading. There was a group of American people there when we arrived and they had a large contingent of doctors and nurses to aid the Haitians with their physical ailments. Together with our brothers and sisters from the United States, we were able to serve the Haitian people and continue to improve the local mission center.
