Titlemuslim are violent and terrorists

Page 4: Misconception about Islam

Islamic terrorism is ,by definition terrorists acts committed by muslim groups or individuals who profes islamic motivation or goals.

Islamic terrorists have relied on the tents of the Quran and Hadith, citing these scriptures to justify violent tactics including mass murder, genocide, child melostation and slavery.

In recent decades, incidents of islamic terrorism have occurred on a global scale, occurring not only muslim majority states in Africa and Asia, but also abroad in Europe, Russia and the united state, and such attacks have targeted muslim and non muslim.

Introductoin

Page 5: Misconception about Islam

The first military rulings were formulated during the first hundred years after Muhammad S.A.W established on the islamic state 0f madina. These rulings evolved in the accordance with the interpretation of Quran (the muslim Holy scriptures) and the Hadith (the recorded tradition of Muhammad (S.A.W).

The millennium of muslim conquest could be classified, technically as, “Religious war”. However the applicability of the term has been questioned.

The reason is that the very notion of a “Religious war” as opposed to a” secular war” is the result of the western concept of separation of church and state.

Islam and war

Page 6: Misconception about Islam

No such division has existed in the islamic world consequently there can not be a real division between wars that are “religious” from such that are “non religious”.

Islam does not have any normative tradition of pacifism and warfare has been integral parts of islamic history both for the defense and the spread of the faith since the time of Muhammad (S.A.W).

Jihad is usually associated with Islam and Muslims, but in fact, the concept of Jihad is found in all religions including Christianity, Judaism etc. Islam defines Jihad as striving and struggling for improvement as well as fighting back to defend one's self, honor, assets and homeland. Jihad, in Islam, means doing any or all but not limited to the following:

Learn, teach, and practice Islam in all aspects of one's life at all times to reach the highest and best education in order to benefit oneself, family and society.

Be a messenger of Islam everywhere, in every behavior and action.

Fight evil, wrongdoing, and injustice with all one's power by one's hand (action), with one's tongue (speech), or at least with one's heart (prayer).

Respond to the call for Jihad with money, effort, wisdom and life; yet, never fight a Muslim brother, a Muslim country, or a non-Muslim society that respects its treaties and harbors no aggressive designs against Islam or Muslims.

Suicide under any pretext is not condoned as Jihad in

Islam.

Converting people to Islam by force is never Jihad but a crime, punishable by law.

Page 9: Misconception about Islam

Despite Islamic teachings against suicide and killing innocent people in battle, terrorist groups like Al Qaeda and the Islamic State, or “ISIS,” have used a political form of Islam known as “Islamism” to justify an unholy war of terrorism. In 1988, Osama bin Laden founded Al Qaeda. Even after his death in 2011, Al Qaeda persists, and the more recently formed group ISIS has attempted to provoke an apocalyptic war with the United States and the West.

The year 1979 was a turning point in international terrorism. Throughout the Arab world and the West, the Iranian Islamic revolution sparked fears of a wave of revolutionary Shia Islam.

Many Islamist terrorists, often called jihadist terrorists, view themselves as following Muhammad’s example. Muhammad in A.D. 622 had to flee from Mecca with a small band of followers.

History of terrorism in Islam

Page 10: Misconception about Islam

The overwhelming majority of Muslims deplore terrorist attacks and view them as violating the Koran. Most fundamentalist Muslims also believe terrorism violates Islamic law. Nonetheless, the Islamic State and other jihadist groups draw their supporters from the ranks of Islamic fundamentalists.

In recent years, a group calling itself the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (aka ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh) has risen to power in the Middle East. ISIS is an Islamist organization that initially formed in Iraq and that seeks to bring about a war against the West centered in Syria.

Page 11: Misconception about Islam

The first reason why many people become terrorists is that they are dedicated to their cause religion. The religion that I mean is Islam, which is not terrorist religion. since the United States has allied itself with Israel that make the U. S. a prime target for terrorism.

These people are hell bent to convert people to their ways, even harming people, which they did a year ago. These terrorists think that if they kill people and themselves in the process they will go before Allah and get seventy virgins waiting for them. Give me a break these people are sadistic and need to be stopped.

Reason and causes behind terrorism

Page 12: Misconception about Islam

Many young people often join terrorist organizations because they are looking for an identity for themselves. A 2010 study from the United States Institute of Peace found that among “2,032 ‘foreign fighters’” who joined al-Qaeda, being a so-called “identity seeker” was the largest reason to join a terrorist organization.

Terrorism is the threat or use of violence against civilians to draw attention to an issue. Those searching for the causes of terrorism -why this tactic would be selected, and in what circumstances- approach the phenomenon in different ways. Some see it as an independent phenomenon, while others view it as one tactic in a larger strategy. Some seek to understand what makes an individual choose terrorism, while others look at it at the level of a group.

Page 13: Misconception about Islam

As said earlier on, Jihad and terrorism are two different concepts. Jihad is basically meant for the eliminate of harmful trends and developing society, while terrorism directs to destruction of the people and society.

Terrorism involves committing crimes against humanity with physical and mental torture of army personals as well as civilians, destruction of public and private property to inject fear and harassment among the masses, while Jihad is against these things. In other words Jihad is obligatory against such actions.

Unlike terrorism, Jihad is never done to fulfill any human desires or worldly objectives: it aims only at the establishment of an Islamic order according to Allah’s commandment.

Page 15: Misconception about Islam

The lack of information and deeper misunderstanding of Islam may lead some to think that the war on terrorism is a war on Islam.

That’s why most Americans and Europeans think of Muslims as strange, foreign, and frightening, inevitably linked to headlines of terrorist events. This is not true since the war on terrorism is not a war on Islam.

Islam and Islamic law have consistently condemned terrorism. Like the members of all religious faiths, Muslims have had to deal with religious extremism and terrorism from their earliest days.

From the origins, the Islamic community faced rebellion and civil wars, violence and terrorism, epitomized by groups like the Kharijites and Assassins.

In more recent decades, alongside mainstream Islamic political opposition, terrorist groups have risen up to challenge the regime and terrorize their populations and attack foreign interests.

Could we have the globalized world with no discrimination and aggression?

Such view of globalization requires all citizens of the world to have mutual understanding of their similarity with other humans and their need for safety.

As humans of different races, religions and civilizations, it is important that we continue to learn from one another our glorious past as well as our pain.

"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not begin aggression, for God loves not aggressors." [Noble Quran 2:190]

Conclusion

Along with this attempt, the changes in the foreign policy and public opinion of the rest of the world would decrease the prejudices against Islam and Muslims.

In the process of this mutual dialogue, all religious leaders and policy makers should attempt to carry on responsibility for the creation of a peaceful world.

God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes.  God loves just dealers.” (Quran 60:8)
