    The Chair made the following announcements:

    Interpretation status: corresponded to the standard linguistic profile of the Committee: 21 languages were available except for Estonian, Maltese and Gaelic.

    Electronic meeting file/Webstreaming: the Chair announced that, as usual, the meeting file was available electronically via the e-meeting application and that the meeting would be web streamed.

    Kick-off meeting of the Health Working Group: the Chair reminded the members that the ENVI Health Working Group, co-chaired by Dolores Montserrat (EPP) and Sara Cerdas (S&D), would have its kick-off meeting on 21 January 2020. He also announced that the Commission President together with Stella Kyriakides would launch the public consultation with stakeholders on the future Cancer Action Plan on the occasion of the World Cancer Day on 4 February.

    Joint ECON - ENVI meeting this Thursday: the Chair informed the members that a joint ECON-ENVI meeting was scheduled for Thursday 23 January from 9.00 to 9.15 to vote on the provisional agreement resulting from interinstitutional negotiations on the taxonomy (sustainable investment) file.

    New colleagues in ENVI Secretariat: the Chair announced that, as of 1st of January 2020 Magda Guzowska and Angelika Bruels joined the ENVI Secretariat.

    4. Chair’s announcements concerning coordinators’ recommendations of 9 January 2020

    The Chair informed the Committee that the coordinators’ recommendations of 9 January 2020 had been circulated electronically, and as no objections were raised, they were deemed approved (see Annex II).

    5. Approval of minutes of meetings of

    6. Report back on ongoing interinstitutional negotiations

    5.1 Update on the EP work on the CAP Strategic Plans file

    Decision taken: Coordinators mandated the ENVI Chair to react to the AGRI letter and to write to the CCC chair, stating that the active participation of ENVI shadows in joint meetings with AGRI shadows is essential in order to be able to reach possible joint compromises among political groups in view of the plenary vote. Any joint compromises coming out of this process would need to be discussed and, if supported by a majority of ENVI coordinators, endorsed.
