• The Colombian Environmental Seal is handled by the Ministery of Environment and sustainable development

• This environmental label is a mark which is granted by an independent institution called "certification body", and voluntarily obtained. A non-edible product or service fulfilling pre-established requirements for its category can have this label.

• Ecological seal for food granted by the ministery of agriculture and rural development of Colombia whose objective is to garantee the sustainability of the natural resources limiting the use of chemical substances and technologies that have a negative effect on the environment, hence,

on health as well.

• It is strategy that seeks to exploit the country's comparative advantages in terms of biodiversity, to facilitate the collective construction of sustainable businesses that promote equity and social justice.

• The main challenge is PNBS contribute to the generation of wealth and opportunities (poverty reduction), especially for the rural population, contributing to the Colombian biodiversity conservation through sustainable commercial use.

products with high added value or certified under a scheme of differentiation in local, regional, national and international markets.

4. Science, Technology and Innovation: Researching and innovating in technologies, materials and / or production processes, promoting social appropriation of knowledge.

5. Financial and Economical Resources: Increasing access to financial resources for biotrading companies and ensuring financial sustainability for the implementation of the National Sustainable Biotrade program.

6. Informatic tools of Marketing and Product: Generating and disseminating information about products and markets of biotrade.

7. Monitoring and Evaluation Tools: Adquiring the monitoring and evaluation tools necessary to track BioTrade initiatives and implementation of the National Sustainable Biotrade program.
